Sparkling Rosé

Schramsberg, the pioneer of ultra-premium quality American sparkling wines, is proud to present its fifteenth vintage of J. Schram Rosé. This sparkling wine is the result of a singular focus to produce a California sparkling rosé as fine as any made in the world.
This wine is blended from the vintages best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wine lots from Schramsbergs collection of 120 cool-climate vineyard sites within the Carneros, Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast and Marin County. Following secondary fermentation in the bottle, this wine was aged on its yeast lees for over seven years in Schramsbergs historic caves. It was then hand-riddled and finished with a select brut dosage. It is the companion to Schramsbergs J. Schram Blancs and J. Schram Noirs, considered by many to be the ultimate expressions of artisan American sparkling wine.
Our 2017 J. Schram Rosé is the epitome of grace, style and elegance in a glass. It lends itself to be served as an apéritif, with a first course or with a light main course. Fresh crab, scallop ceviche, seared swordfish, roasted poultry, or braised pork loin are all well-suited pairings.
For the 2017 vintage, abundant winter rains prior to the growing season helped recharge reservoirs and groundwater. Spring weather was cool to mild, with increased vine vigor and extended flowering in some areas. After a summer of heat spikes, harvest started in the beginning of August. Warm days and cool nights throughout harvest encouraged exceptional fruit development while maintaining bright acidity.

Our magnum size (1.5-L) of our 2020 Brut Rosé.
Schramsberg Brut Rosé is fruitful, complex and dry, making it both versatile with food and delicious by itself as an apéritif. The character of the wine is most strongly influenced by bright, flavorful Pinot Noir grown along Californias North coast from southern Mendocino County to northern Marin County. A few small lots of Pinot Noir are fermented in contact with their skins to add depth and subtle color to this vibrant sparkling wine. Chardonnay gives spice, structure and length on the palate.
Hand picking, careful handling and gentle pressing produce a wine of delicacy, aromatic purity and depth. Following the fall harvest and fermentation of the base wines, extensive tasting trials are carried out in the spring to create a polished blend reflective of the vintage. The finished blend undergoes a second fermentation in bottle before aging on its yeast lees for about two years, just enough to achieve refined effervescence and toastiness without diminishing its refreshing, vibrant appeal.
Enjoy this rich, delicious sparkler on almost any occasion: at your favorite restaurant, a special dinner at home, at a beach picnic or a backyard barbecue. A very versatile wine; try it with sushi, salmon, rock shrimp, roast chicken, BBQ ribs, caprese and Panzanella salads, red berry tarts, and an array of cheeses, charcuterie, nuts and fresh fruit.
The 2020 growing season was preceded by a dry, mild winter. Bud break began earlier than normal and crop yields were light, which led to an early harvest start. Cool and moderate summer conditions gave way to heat spells and forest fires through August and September. Our team worked through these challenges to produce a delicious array of sparkling wines.

Enjoy this lively, luscious sparkler on almost any occasion: at your favorite restaurant, a special dinner at home, at a beach picnic or a backyard barbecue. A very versatile wine; try it with sushi, salmon, rock shrimp, roast chicken, BBQ ribs, caprese and Panzanella salads, red berry tarts, and an array of cheeses, charcuterie, nuts and fresh fruit.
The 2022 growing season was marked by drought, warm temperatures, and both an early and accelerated harvest. Despite the challenges, the lower yields resulted in concentration and expressive flavors. Sonomas fruit showcased refined aromatics and crisp balance, Napas produced structured wines with depth, Mendocinos added bright citrus notes, and Marins small berries contributed core red berry intensity. This North Coast vintage balances ripeness with freshness, delivering sparkling wines of great precision, range, and character.

Twenty years into building an outstanding range of vintage-dated sparkling wines, the Davies family set out to master the non-vintage or multi-vintage traditional method technique. A few years of experimentation would ultimately lead to the successful launch of Mirabelle Brut and Mirabelle Brut Rose in 1992. These bottlings are specially crafted blends of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Schramsbergs select cool-climate vineyards in the Napa-Carneros, Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley, and Marin County areas of Californias North Coast. Starting in 2022, the Mirabelle packaging designated the bottling number to give specificity to each bottling of Mirabelle, and to highlight the vintage which is primarily in the blend. For this 34th bottling, the 2022 vintage makes up 96% of the blend, with the other 4% coming from our base wine cellar of prior vintages.
The grapes are picked by hand and gently pressed to provide superior quality juice for the production of this balanced, refreshing rosé bubbly. In the spring following the fall harvest, base wines are individually evaluated and carefully blended by our winemakers. Pinot Noir lots, including a few fermented with skin contact, provide brightness of berry fruit and body, while Chardonnay lots lend length and zest to the palate. Additional flavor depth and aromatic complexity results from the blending of base wine lots aged in barrels and tanks for one or more years. The wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and rests for approximately two years before its release. Following the en tirage aging, an extensive dosage trial process produces the ideal finishing touch, and the sparkling wine is ready to be enjoyed. The finished Brut Rosé exhibits fresh, elegant, and toasty aromas that lead to lively and delicious fruit flavors on the palate.
The multi-vintage Mirabelle Rosé is delicious on its own, and it also pairs well with everything from grilled salmon, BBQ Pork ribs, Caprese salad, fruit salad, poke tuna, classic Hawaiian pizza, simple pastas, or Sunday brunch.
