Schramsberg, the pioneer of ultra-premium quality American sparkling wines, is proud to present its fifteenth vintage of J. Schram Rosé. This sparkling wine is the result of a singular focus to produce a California sparkling rosé as fine as any made in the world.
This wine is blended from the vintages best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wine lots from Schramsbergs collection of 120 cool-climate vineyard sites within the Carneros, Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast and Marin County. Following secondary fermentation in the bottle, this wine was aged on its yeast lees for over seven years in Schramsbergs historic caves. It was then hand-riddled and finished with a select brut dosage. It is the companion to Schramsbergs J. Schram Blancs and J. Schram Noirs, considered by many to be the ultimate expressions of artisan American sparkling wine.
Our 2017 J. Schram Rosé is the epitome of grace, style and elegance in a glass. It lends itself to be served as an apéritif, with a first course or with a light main course. Fresh crab, scallop ceviche, seared swordfish, roasted poultry, or braised pork loin are all well-suited pairings.
For the 2017 vintage, abundant winter rains prior to the growing season helped recharge reservoirs and groundwater. Spring weather was cool to mild, with increased vine vigor and extended flowering in some areas. After a summer of heat spikes, harvest started in the beginning of August. Warm days and cool nights throughout harvest encouraged exceptional fruit development while maintaining bright acidity.

The Schramsberg style of Blanc de Blancs is dry and crisp. Small lots of barrel fermented wines, some of which complete malolactic fermentation, are added to stainless-steel fermented wines to create added complexity in the blended base wine. After undergoing a second fermentation in bottle, the wine then ages on its yeast lees for about two years prior to disgorgement. With its vibrant, fruitful and focused nature, this sparkling wine will maintain its freshness, structure and refined finish for many years, even decades following its initial release.
Schramsberg Brut Rosé is fruitful, complex and dry, making it both versatile with food and delicious by itself as an apéritif. The character of the wine is most strongly influenced by bright, flavorful Pinot Noir grown along Californias North Coast from southern Mendocino County to northern Marin County. Schramsberg Brut Rosé is fruitful, complex and dry, making it both versatile with food and delicious by itself as an apéritif. The character of the wine is most strongly influenced by bright, flavorful Pinot Noir grown along Californias North Coast from southern Mendocino County to northern Marin County. A few small lots of Pinot Noir are fermented in contact with their skins to add depth and subtle color to this vibrant sparkling wine. Chardonnay gives spice, structure and length on the palate.
Hand picking, careful handling and gentle pressing produce a wine of delicacy, aromatic purity and depth. Following the fall harvest and fermentation of the base wines, extensive tasting trials are carried out in the spring to create a polished blend reflective of the vintage. The finished blend undergoes a second fermentation in bottle before aging on its yeast lees for about two years, just enough to achieve refined effervescence and toastiness without diminishing its refreshing, vibrant appeal.
Enjoy this lively, luscious sparkler on almost any occasion: at your favorite restaurant, a special dinner at home, at a beach picnic or a backyard barbecue. The 2021 growing season started with cold temperatures and minimal rain, that gave way to warm weather through the summer months. Hot days and cold nights allowed for steady ripening throughout. A few heat spikes at the end of August encouraged the vines to dig deep in the soils, resulting in highly concentrated fruit with a beautiful balance of generous acidity.

Blanc de Blancs (white from whites), made from Chardonnay, is the counterpart to the Blanc de Noirs (white from blacks), made from Pinot Noir. Blanc de Blancs was the first wine Schramsberg produced in 1965 and was Americas first commercially produced Chardonnay-based brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs gained international recognition in 1972 when then President Nixon served the wine at the historic Toast to Peace in Beijing, China.
The Schramsberg style of Blanc de Blancs is dry and crisp. Small lots of barrel fermented wines, some of which complete malolactic fermentation, are added to stainless-steel fermented wines to create added complexity in the blended base wine. After undergoing a second fermentation in bottle, the wine then ages on its yeast lees for about two years prior to disgorgement. With its vibrant, fruitful and focused nature, this sparkling wine will maintain its freshness, structure and refined finish for many years, even decades following its initial release.
While this wine can be enjoyed by itself as an apéritif, it is also perfect with fresh oysters and other shellfish, crab cakes, ceviche and grilled sea bass. It is also delicious with lemon chicken and Thai curries. Serve with aged Gouda and other hard cheeses, or as a counterpoint to soft triple creams.
The 2022 growing season was marked by drought, warm temperatures, and both an early and accelerated harvest. Despite the challenges, the lower yields resulted in concentrated fruit with expressive flavors. Sonomas fruit showcased refined aromatics and crisp balance and Carneros fruit produced structured wines with depth. Small lots from Mendocino and Marin added intensity with bright citrus notes. This North Coast vintage balances ripeness with freshness, delivering sparkling wines of great precision, depth, and character.

Our 2023 Blanc de Blancs greets the nose with bright aromas of fresh apple, pineapple, lemon blossom, and Asian pear; with warm touches of lemon meringue, fresh bread, and pie crust. On the palate, clean acidity is driven by green apple, lemon zest, and limeade. "Our 2023 Blanc de Noirs features aromas of apricot, peach, and yellow apple, layered with tropical hints of mango and pineapple.
