Six bottles of our 2017 J. Schram Blancs. Our J. Schram portfolio is the finest and most complex of our handcrafted sparkling wines -- vowed to suit all palates and make an everlasting impression.
Originally released with the 1987 vintage as our J. Schram, the 2013 vintage of this bottling was renamed J. Schram Blancs to denote this wines Chardonnay-based core. From the inception of Schramsbergs efforts in 1965, the winery has sought to achieve the greatest elegance and individuality possible in our sparkling wines. J. Schram Blancs epitomizes Schramsbergs philosophy to create a wine in which no effort has been spared and no care has been omitted. Representing only 2-3% of the winerys annual production, the Chardonnay-focused J. Schram Blancs blend is assembled from the very best base wine lots of the approximately 300 produced each year. This special bottling is dedicated to Schramsbergs founder, Jacob Schram, and has been a great success since its premier vintage was released in 1992.
Cluster samples from over 115 cool-climate vineyard sources are pulled several times before the optimal pick date for each block is selected. Complexity within the wine is gained through both oak barrel and stainless-steel tank fermentation. Additional layers are provided through small lots that undergo malolactic fermentation in barrel, enriching aromas and infusing creaminess on the palate. Our J. Schram Blancs is aged for eight years on the yeast in Schramsbergs historic Diamond Mountain caves; each bottle is then riddled by hand and finished with an exceptional brut dosage.
J. Schram Blancs is quite appealing on its own as an apéritif or enjoyed with fresh shellfish, caviar on toast point, smoked salmon, sharp cheeses, seafood brochettes, cedar-planked lobster, mesquite-grilled quail, or Serrano ham and porcini risotto.
For the 2017 vintage, abundant winter rains prior to the growing season helped recharge reservoirs and groundwater. Spring weather was cool to mild, with increased vine vigor and extended flowering in some areas. After a summer of heat spikes, harvest started in the beginning of August. Warm days and cool nights throughout harvest encouraged exceptional fruit development while maintaining bright acidity.

Three bottles (750 mL) of our 2017 J. Schram Rosé.
Schramsberg, the pioneer of ultra-premium quality American sparkling wines, is proud to present its fifteenth vintage of J. Schram Rosé. This sparkling wine is the result of a singular focus to produce a California sparkling rosé as fine as any made in the world.
This wine is blended from the vintages best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wine lots from Schramsbergs collection of 120 cool-climate vineyard sites within the Carneros, Anderson Valley, Sonoma Coast and Marin County. Following secondary fermentation in the bottle, this wine was aged on its yeast lees for over seven years in Schramsbergs historic caves. It was then hand-riddled and finished with a select brut dosage. It is the companion to Schramsbergs J. Schram Blancs and J. Schram Noirs, considered by many to be the ultimate expressions of artisan American sparkling wine.
Our 2017 J. Schram Rosé is the epitome of grace, style and elegance in a glass. It lends itself to be served as an apéritif, with a first course or with a light main course. Fresh crab, scallop ceviche, seared swordfish, roasted poultry, or braised pork loin are all well-suited pairings.
For the 2017 vintage, abundant winter rains prior to the growing season helped recharge reservoirs and groundwater. Spring weather was cool to mild, with increased vine vigor and extended flowering in some areas. After a summer of heat spikes, harvest started in the beginning of August. Six bottles (750 mL) of our 2022 Querencia Brut Rosé.
All orders that include the 2022 Querencia six-bottle set will ship after May 31, 2026.
First produced in 1998, Querencia is a Brut Rosé produced solely from fruit grown in the Napa Valley Carneros region. Chardonnay forms the blends core, providing a relatively light-bodied, crisp and tangy palate. Small additions of Pinot Noir fermented with skin contact add berry brightness and color.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Querencia contribute to the Jack L. Davies Napa Valley Agricultural Land Preservation Fund, which supports future agricultural preservation and education efforts in Napa County. Established by the Davies family in 1998 upon the passing of Schramsberg founder Jack Davies, the fund builds on his 30-year legacy as a strong advocate for the preservation of agricultural land. Jack played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Napa Valley Agricultural Preserve in 1968, which has become a national model for the protection of agriculture. The preserve celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018.
The wine was named by James Hickey, long-time Napa County planning director and JLD Ag Fund Board Member. The name is a Spanish word meaning the deep and abiding affection one has for the place one calls home. It refers to the sense of being nourished by the place in which you belong, and the balance that exists between the land and its stewards. Our Querencia Brut Rosé is hearty enough to compliment the robust flavors of shrimp ceviche, grilled halibut, roast chicken, braised pork loin, caprese salad and sushi.
The 2022 vintage began with over 20 inches of rain from October to December, followed by mostly dry conditions from January to March. After a frosty spring and some hail events, we welcomed a warmer summer. A record-breaking September heat wave kicked harvest into full swing. This distinctive weather pattern contributed to the diverse flavor profile for which Napa Valley wines are celebrated, ranging from vibrant and elegant to dense and powerful.

Two magnum bottles each (1.5 L) of our 2022 Blanc de Blancs and 2021 Brut Rosé.
The Schramsberg style of Blanc de Blancs is dry and crisp. Small lots of barrel fermented wines, some of which complete malolactic fermentation, are added to stainless-steel fermented wines to create added complexity in the blended base wine. After undergoing a second fermentation in bottle, the wine then ages on its yeast lees for about two years prior to disgorgement. With its vibrant, fruitful and focused nature, this sparkling wine will maintain its freshness, structure and refined finish for many years, even decades following its initial release.
Schramsberg Brut Rosé is fruitful, complex and dry, making it both versatile with food and delicious by itself as an apéritif. The character of the wine is most strongly influenced by bright, flavorful Pinot Noir grown along Californias North Coast from southern Mendocino County to northern Marin County. A few small lots of Pinot Noir are fermented in contact with their skins to add depth and subtle color to this vibrant sparkling wine. Chardonnay gives spice, structure and length on the palate.

Twelve bottles (375 mL) of our 2021 Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs Half-bottles.
Blanc de Blancs (white from whites), made from Chardonnay, is the counterpart to the Blanc de Noirs (white from blacks), made from Pinot Noir. Blanc de Blancs was the first wine Schramsberg produced in 1965 and was America's first commercially produced Chardonnay-based brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs gained international recognition in 1972 when then President Nixon served the wine at the historic "Toast to Peace" in Beijing, China.
While this wine can be enjoyed by itself as an apéritif, it is also perfect with fresh oysters and other shellfish, crab cakes, ceviche and grilled sea bass. It is also delicious with lemon chicken and Thai curries. Serve with aged Gouda or other hard cheeses, and as a counterpoint to soft triple creams.
The 2021 growing season started with cold temperatures and minimal rain, that gave way to warm weather through the summer months. Hot days and cold nights allowed for steady ripening throughout the season. The few heat spikes at the end of August encouraged the vines to dig deep in the soils, resulting in highly concentrated fruit with a beautiful balance of generous acidity.

A few small lots of Pinot Noir are fermented in contact with their skins to add depth and subtle color to this vibrant sparkling wine. Chardonnay gives spice, structure and length on the palate.
Hand picking, careful handling and gentle pressing produce a wine of delicacy, aromatic purity and depth. Following the fall harvest and fermentation of the base wines, extensive tasting trials are carried out in the spring to create a polished blend reflective of the vintage. The finished blend undergoes a second fermentation in bottle before aging on its yeast lees for about two years, just enough to achieve refined effervescence and toastiness without diminishing its refreshing, vibrant appeal.
Enjoy this lively, luscious sparkler on almost any occasion: at your favorite restaurant, a special dinner at home, at a beach picnic or a backyard barbecue. A very versatile wine; try it with sushi, salmon, rock shrimp, roast chicken, BBQ ribs, caprese and Panzanella salads, red berry tarts, and an array of cheeses, charcuterie, nuts and fresh fruit.

Tasting notes
Our 2023 Blanc de Blancs greets the nose with bright aromas of fresh apple, pineapple, lemon blossom, and Asian pear; with warm touches of lemon meringue, fresh bread, and pie crust. On the palate, clean acidity is driven by green apple, lemon zest, and limeade. Hints of lemon curd and sugar cookie support a juicy, quenching center, with a tangy and clean finish."- Winemakers Jessica Koga, Sean Thompson and Hugh Davies
"Our 2023 Blanc de Noirs features aromas of apricot, peach, and yellow apple, layered with tropical hints of mango and pineapple. Accents of orange, honey, and ginger add warmth, while undertones of vanilla, brioche, and graham cracker bring richness. The palate opens with lemon-lime citrus, unfolding into flavors of Bosc pear, mandarin, and tangerine. A juicy, tart center carries through the long, vibrant, and zippy finish."
"Our 2022 Brut Rosé welcomes lead layers of strawberry and raspberry on the nose, with notes of juicy orange and lemon-lime following. Candied apple and a hint of ginger add depth, while hibiscus and shortbread cookie bring additional richness. The palate opens with tangy acidity and a bright, juicy core, supported by flavors of strawberry-rhubarb and guava. Tart cranberry and lime zest add to the long finish."
"Our 2022 Crémant Demi-sec has bright aromas of pear nectar, tangerine, and candied ginger, with warm notes of honey toast and graham cracker. The palate is full and coating, with flavors of juicy peach, pineapple, and candied orange peel. It has balanced acidity and a creamy length.
