The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg and Davies Vineyards in Napa Valley, presents the seventh vintage of the J. Davies Estate Jamie, the finest Cabernet Sauvignon crafted from its historic Diamond Mountain vineyard property. Bearing her signature, this wine is named in honor of Schramsbergs matriarch, the late Jamie Davies. Along with her husband Jack, she revived the Schramsberg property in 1965 with an inspired vision of crafting world-class American sparkling wines. Five decades later a second generation of the Davies family, led by son Hugh and his wife Monique, have taken on the additional challenge of producing extraordinary Cabernet Sauvignon from vines grown on the familys hillside property. They are proud to release the J. Davies Estate Jamie Cabernet Sauvignon, representing the pinnacle of an endeavor that spans 57 years.
The vineyard blocks, totaling 46 acres, are laid out in four isolated pockets ranging from 500 to 1000 feet in elevation. They include the two Schram sections, Napa Valleys first hillside vineyards, originally established in 1862 by Jacob Schram, the McEachran parcel, first planted by Colin McEachran in 1878, and the Claes parcel, dating back to 1984. These are the southernmost vineyards in the Diamond Mountain District AVA. Flanked by two cool creek canyons (Nash Creek to the north and Ritchie Creek to the south) and surrounded by compact coniferous and deciduous forests, the vines here produce late-ripening, richly concentrated fruit with average yields of just two tons per acre.
The long growing season in 2018 revealed a vintage with structure and concentration without being overripe. Despite a warm February, the growing season started off cooler than the past few vintages. A cool spring meant bloom lasted longer than usual, which resulted in a bountiful crop. Summer temperatures were moderate with fewer heat spikes than in recent years. Veraison started later as well, and as a result, harvest started two to three weeks later than average. The result was fruit exhibiting firm tannins, with outstanding color and brightness.

With great enthusiasm, we present this one-of-a-kind late disgorged offering of our 2004 J. Schram. From the inception of Schramsbergs efforts in 1965, the winery has sought to achieve the greatest elegance and individuality possible in our sparkling wines. Our J. Schram bottlings epitomize Schramsbergs philosophy to craft wines in which no effort has been spared and no care has been omitted.
With 17 years of contact on the yeast in the bottle, in our historic Diamond Mountain caves, the 2004 J. Schram Late Disgorged has developed exquisite richness, depth and complexity. Extensive aging en tirage enables savory, nutty and seasoned attributes to evolve with fruitful caramelization, density and creaminess on the palate.
More than 120 cool-climate vineyard sites in Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and the Marin coastal areas are farmed each year to achieve the best possible fruit for our sparkling wines. Hand-picking, early-morning harvesting, and light pressing of the grapes are critical for maintaining juice quality. A small amount of select Pinot Noir is included in the primarily Chardonnay blend, bringing a fruitful roundness to the palate. Distinct barrel and malolactic fermentation lots are then layered in to provide viscosity and depth, prior to the wine going to bottle for its long rest within the caves. Following secondary fermentation within the bottle, the yeast within slowly break down through a process called autolysis, imparting a richness and complexity that can only be achieved through years of patience. Now 18 years after these grapes were first harvested, we release this outstanding bottle of wine for your enjoyment.
In 2004, bud break occurred earlier than many vintners could remember and the trend carried forward throughout the growing season. Heat spikes occurred in June and at scattered intervals throughout the summer season. Grapes completed veraison early, leading to an end of July start to harvest. Temperatures were relatively moderate in the mid-season, allowing for high acid retention in the fruit. Grape quality was quite high with a crop that was smaller than average.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg and Davies Vineyards in Napa Valley, presents its nineteenth vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon crafted from the historic Diamond Mountain vineyards they purchased in 1965. The estate vineyards were replanted to Bordeaux varietals beginning in 1994, and the J. Davies Estate Cabernet Sauvignon was first released in 2004 (2001 vintage).
J. Davies Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is the creation of two generations of the Davies family, the product of an intimate knowledge of this property, reflecting their passion to craft delicious red wine. The wine is named in honor of patriarch Jack L. Davies, who along with his wife, Jamie, revived the Schramsberg property and established the preeminent American sparkling wine house 57 years ago.
The vineyard blocks, totaling 46 acres, are laid out in four isolated pockets ranging from 500 to 1000 feet in elevation. They include the two Schram sections, Napa Valleys first hillside vineyards, originally planted in 1862 by Jacob Schram, the McEachran parcel, first planted by Colin McEachran in 1878, and the Claes parcel, dating back to 1984. The 2019 growing season started off with lots of winter rain and cold temperatures. Mild conditions continued throughout the summer with an occasional heat wave allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. The 2019 vintage delivered high quality with relatively large yields, balanced acidity and superb flavors.

Originally released as our J. Schram, with the 2013 vintage this bottling was renamed the J. Schram Blancs to denote this wines Chardonnay-based core. From the inception of Schramsbergs efforts in 1965, the winery has sought to achieve the greatest elegance and individuality possible in our sparkling wines. J. Schram Blancs epitomizes Schramsbergs philosophy to create a wine in which no effort has been spared and no care has been omitted. Representing only 2-3% of the winerys annual production, the Chardonnay-focused J. Schram Blancs blend is assembled from the very best base wine lots of the approximately 300 produced each year. This special bottling is dedicated to Schramsbergs founder, Jacob Schram, and has been a great success since its premier 1987 vintage was released in 1992.
Cluster samples from over 115 cool-climate vineyard sources are pulled several times before the optimal pick date for each block is selected. Complexity within the wine is gained through both oak barrel and stainless-steel tank fermentation. Additional layers are provided through small lots that undergo malolactic fermentation in barrel, enriching aromas and infusing creaminess on the palate. Our J. Schram Blancs is aged for eight years on the yeast in Schramsbergs historic Diamond Mountain caves; each bottle is then riddled by hand and finished with an exceptional brut dosage.
J. Schram Blancs is quite appealing on its own as an apéritif or enjoyed with fresh shellfish, caviar on toast point, smoked salmon, sharp cheeses, seafood brochettes, cedar-planked lobster, mesquite-grilled quail, or Serrano ham and porcini risotto.
The 2013 North Coast vintage harvest was an ideal season with dry conditions and a long, sunny summer. Condensed, even and excellent are three words used to describe the growing season. The season began early, with a warm and dry spring, and beautiful weather extended all the way through an early harvest. Yields overall were above average and fruit showed great balance of acidity and sugar, leading to optimal flavor development.

The Schramsberg team and the Davies Family is thrilled to release the first bottling of J. Schram Noirs, our finest Pinot Noir brut offering. For decades labeled as the Schramsberg Reserve, we bottled our special limited Noirs blend in the J. Schram proprietary glass with the 2013 vintage, filling out our ultimate sparkling wine tier with three selections: Blancs, Rosé, and Noirs. Representing 2% of our annual production, this richly flavored and full-bodied sparkler is made from only the finest base-wine lots produced each year. We release this finished sparkling wine nine years after the grapes are harvested, yet this fruitful, dry, toasty and creamy bubbly will age gracefully for decades to come.
Though primarily Pinot Noir, small amounts of select Chardonnay lots are added to the blend to lend additional backbone and length to the palate. Distinct barrel and malolactic fermented lots are also layered in to provide viscosity and depth. Each bottle is aged in contact with its yeast in our historic Diamond Mountain hillside caves for eight years, affording the development of seasoned, roasted and caramelized richness. The yeast is then removed and a finishing dosage, determined through extensive and comprehensive trials, is added to fine-tune the wines balance of flavor and structure.
J. Schram Noirs is well-suited with a main course, such as fruit-stuffed veal, pork tenderloin, roast duck with mango, cedar-plank grilled salmon, and curried chicken salad. This flavorful sparkling wine can also be served as an apéritif with smoked oysters, caviar and such hard cheeses as aged Swiss Sbrinz, Sonoma Vella Jack, or Irish Coolea.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in Napa Valley, presents its third bottling of the St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon from the St. Helena District. Building upon its experience with its home property on Diamond Mountain in the valleys western Mayacamas Range, this bottling represents the Davies teams effort with Cabernet Sauvignon from this famed appellation. Second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies, Director of Winemaking Sean Thompson and Consultant Celia Welch have collaborated well together since 2008 in crafting Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons, and they are very proud to present this unique vineyard-designate bottling from the 2019 vintage.
Approximately 20 miles north of the San Francisco and San Pablo Bays, and nestled between the Mayacamas and Vaca Mountain ranges, lies appellation St. Helena. The hourglass shape of this appellations geography, and its distance from the cool waters of the Bay and the Pacific Ocean, set this historic location apart from any other growing region. Vineyards are located on ancient alluvial fans, that sweep toward the Napa River. Consistent heat is locked in during the day and is amplified by the hillsides; at night, that same slender width funnels moderating breezes to dramatically cool the vines, sometimes by as much as 40 to 50 degrees. This extreme shift in temperature helps the fruit retain ideal balance and acidity.
While largely unknown by consumers, this vineyard is held in high regard by those in the industry. Located in a small, quiet valley at the base of Howell Mountain, the east-facing vineyard benefits from the cooling breezes coming off the mountain and the Bell Canyon Reservoir. The soils are a Cortina Series alluvial gravel mix of red volcanic soils and obsidian. The property is 18-acres with roughly half under vine.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in Napa Valley, presents its third bottling of the Renteria 360 Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the Oakville District. Building upon its experience with its home property on Diamond Mountain in the valleys western Mayacamas Range, this bottling represents the Davies teams effort with Cabernet Sauvignon from the valleys Oakville appellation. Second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies, Director of Winemaking Sean Thompson and Consultant Celia Welch have collaborated well together since 2008 in crafting Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons, and they are very proud to present this unique vineyard-designate bottling from the 2019 vintage
The Oakville AVA extends over an expanse of well-drained gravel soil between the Vaca and Mayacamas Mountains. The soils found here are the result of sedimentary deposits from the hills that form Napa Valley. What makes Oakvilles climate distinctive is its transitional, mid-valley location. Oakville is just far enough south to receive regular morning fog from the San Francisco and San Pablo bays, which slows the warming early in the day. But after the fog blows off by mid-morning, Oakville receives the full benefit of the Napa Valley sun. When afternoon temperatures begin to peak, the bay blows cool breezes north to begin this cooling cycle again.
The Renteria family has been farming in the Napa Valley since 1962. The Renteria 360 Vineyard is located on the north end of Oakville, at the border of Rutherford, just off the Silverado trail. The nearly 60-acre vineyard was planted in 2012 and is comprised of multiple blocks with different clone and rootstock combinations. This wine is crafted from three distinct blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon. Planted to clones 4, 15, and 169 - combined they create a wine rich in depth, color, and flavor.

Located in Coombsville, the Simpkins Vineyard is managed by viticultuirst Mike Wolfe. Coombsville is a quiet area, in the southeastern corner of the Napa Valley, tucked up against the foothills of the Vaca Mountain Range, just outside of the Napa city limits. Coombsville wines can be recognized by their structured tannins, which provide excellent power and mouthfeel, along with underlying layers of earth and mineral flavors. The vineyard soil is rocky loam, providing good drainage and low nutrient concentration. Under these external stresses the vines work hard to produce a limited amount of high quality fruit.
Coombsvilles temperatures are moderated by its proximity to the San Pablo Bay. Temperate daily highs and minimal heat spikes limit dehydration, preserve acidity levels, and create even ripening patterns. The vines bud early, and the grapes tend to be harvested later, making for a long, slow ripening period which promotes intensified flavors and layering in the finished wine.

Winfield Vineyard, first planted in 2000 with additional blocks added in 2014-2015, is owned and managed by Tom Thornton. Located in the Calistoga AVA, in the northern part of the Napa Valley, Winfield Vineyard is situated in the rising foothills of Mount Saint Helena, at an elevation of 425 to 590 feet. Slightly higher daytime temperatures at this altitude, compared to nearby vineyards at lower elevations, are ideal for ripening. Evenings receive a gradual cooling, as the maritime air is pulled into the area from the Pacific Ocean, allowing the grapes to maintain structural balance during the growing season. With naturally occurring groundwater within the alluvial sedimentary fans of this volcanic soil, a unique combination of geology and climate creates an extraordinary place for growing delicious Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Extra Brut is produced for the growing number of enthusiasts who on occasion desire a very, very dry sparkling wine. These wines are finished with a dosage of between 0.3 - 0.6 g/100 mL of residual sugar, about half that of our other brut offerings. More broadly a progression towards a drier brut has occurred in the sparkling wine world in the past two decades, as producers have been able to develop brighter intensity of fruit flavor in the grapes that they grow. Schramsberg is no exception. Because cooler climate vineyards have produced grapes with not only higher acidity, but also riper Pinot Noir and Chardonnay characteristics, the level of dosage in our brut offerings has decreased by 15-20% through this transition.
With our seventh Extra Brut offering, we have given the clarity and depth of some of our finest blocks of the 2015 season an even greater opportunity to balance the crispness and drive of the resulting sparkling wine. Made primarily from the broader and supple Pinot Noir variety, this bottling was aged for over six years on the yeast prior to disgorgement, enabling ample time for it to soften and develop complexity and depth.
This wine is ready to enjoy upon release, but will age beautifully for another 20 years or more. This opulent and racy style matches extraordinarily well with foods that are served raw, such as caviar and ceviche, but will also pair perfectly with cooked foods such as smoked oysters, a mushroom tart, and veal picatta. An antipasto sampling with prosciutto, sopresatta, Gouda, pecorino, artichoke heart, and cured olives will also shine alongside.
The 2015 year delivered California vintners a stellar vintage. A mild winter led to an early bud break, followed by a protracted bloom during an unseasonably cooler spring, which contributed to smaller grape clusters and variable crop size. A steady and moderate weather pattern during ripening allowed for gradual maturity within the grapes and exceptional quality upon harvest.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards in Napa Valley, presents its fourteenth vintage of J. Davies Estate jd Cabernet Sauvignon. Like its companion J. Davies Estate bottlings, this red wine is crafted solely from the densely flavored, richly structured fruit grown on the familys hillside property. Following the blending of J. Davies, the winemaking team carefully select from the remaining barrels of wine to craft this offering. Vibrant and approachable as a young wine, the medium-bodied jd is released after two and a half years of aging. Bearing the initials of Jack Davies, who along with his wife, Jamie, revived the historic Schramsberg winery property in 1965, it is the product of an intimate knowledge of this place, and a passion to create delicious Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2019 growing season was an interesting one, starting later than previous years, due to cold temperatures and lots of winter rain. Mild heat throughout the summer with the occasional heat wave allowed the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. 2019 produced a relatively large yielding and high-quality vintage, with balanced acidity and superb flavors.

The Davies family of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley is pleased to release its seventh vintage of its Goorgian Vineyards Pinot Noir. The familys experience with Pinot Noir dates back to 1967, when Jack and Jamie Davies first used this elegant red varietal to make their inaugural vintage of Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine. Over the 55 years following that first use, Schramsbergs winemakers have built long-lasting relationships with some of the best Pinot Noir growers in the North Coast. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies, and Winemakers Sean Thompson and Csilla Kato, are proud to present this vineyard-designate Pinot Noir from southern Mendocino Countys Anderson Valley.
The Goorgian Vineyards are located at the northwestern end of the Anderson Valley, 10 miles east of the Pacific Ocean and situated on steep, rocky northwest facing slopes with an elevation ranging from 200-350 feet. Shallow loamy topsoil facilitates excellent drainage above a layer of sandstone and shale, stressing the roots to reach for nutrients and water. Cooler daily temperatures are ideal for Pinot Noir with nightly coastal breezes dropping into the 50s, creating the perfect sugar to acid balance in the grapes. This environment provides a long, even growing season which delivers mature fruit depth with a vibrant, acidic backbone. Goorgian Vineyards is managed by our long-time grape growing partner Paul Ardzrooni.
The 2020 growing season was mild overall, with bud break occurring earlier than in years past. More spring frost events than typical and little rainfall, set the region up for a low-yielding season resulting in densely concentrated fruit. Harvested grapes delivered beautiful intensity and rich balance.

The Davies family of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley is pleased to release the 2020 vintage of its Hyde Vineyards Pinot Noir from the Carneros Napa Valley AVA. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies, and Winemakers Sean Thompson and Csilla Kato, are proud to present their eigth Pinot Noir vineyard-designate release from this storied Napa Valley Carneros property.
The Hyde familys Pinot Noir vineyards are planted just north of Highway 12 at the base of the Mayacamas foothills in the Napa Valley Carneros AVA at the southernmost end of the Napa Valley. The grapes are favorably influenced by the nightly cooling effect provided by the closely located San Pablo Bay. The vines on the property thrive on three feet of loamy topsoil above an impenetrable clay subsoil. This soil combination provides superb control over the nutrients and water supply for the vines. The Davies have enjoyed working with the Hydes since 1995 with their sparkling wine program and with Pinot Noir still wine since 2013.
The 2020 growing season in Napa Valley was a warm, dry winter with little rainfall. The season started earlier than in recent years with more frost events and mild temperatures. Summer brought very cool mornings and very warm days. The growing conditions led to a smaller than usual red wine harvest, but the high-quality fruit that was harvested turned into fantastic wines.

The Davies family of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley is pleased to release the third bottling of their Three Amigos Pinot Noir from the Carneros Napa Valley AVA. The familys experience with Pinot Noir dates back to 1967, when Jack and Jamie Davies first used this elegant red varietal to make their inaugural vintage of Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine. Over the 54 years following that first use, Schramsbergs winemakers have built long-lasting relationships with some of the best Pinot Noir growers in the North Coast. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies and Winemakers Sean Thompson and Jessica Koga are proud to present this delicious vineyard-designate Pinot Noir wine from the 2019 vintage.
This wine is crafted solely from the Three Amigos Vineyard, a certified organic and biodynamic Pinot Noir vineyard in the Napa Valley Carneros region, owned and managed by Robert Sinskey. At a short distance from the Napa Marina, its a cool, foggy, and breezy location that Pinot Noir loves. Carneros - occasionally called Los Carneros - stretches across the southern portion of both Napa and Sonoma Valleys. Located just north of the San Pablo Bay, Carneros benefits from the bays cooling air and morning fog. Grapes from this cooler sub-appellation ripen more slowly, retaining acidity and developing complexity, and though there are now several cool-climate areas specializing in Pinot Noir, Carneros was one of the earlier-planted Pinot regions in California.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and the J. Davies Estate in Napa Valley, presents its ninth vintage of Davies Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Expanding on knowledge gained through the production of the J. Davies Cabernet Sauvignon wines from the Diamond Mountain estate, this bottling represents an outstanding range of sites across the Napa Valley. Each vineyard is intentionally farmed to produce low yields, resulting in vivid, concentrated flavors. The finished wine exhibits vibrant fruitful flavors, a rich texture, and firm tannic structure, allowing for enjoyment now as well as extended aging.
The Napa Valley was Californias first AVA, or American Viticultural Area, recognized by the U.S. government in 1981. Though just 30 miles long and a few miles wide, Napa Valley is one of the most geologically diverse wine regions in the world. Home to various microclimates, terrain and soils, it has a dry Mediterranean climate which is ideal for producing consistent wines from vintage to vintage. This climate provides near perfect growing conditions during the peak growing season with little rainfall, warm days, and cool nights. Throughout the growing season, the canopy is carefully managed to ensure optimal fruit development.
The 2020 Napa grape season will be remembered for years to come, but unfortunately for some reasons outside of traditional metrics. The winter was moderate and dry, with limited rain to restore groundwater. Budbreak, flowering and fruit set got the season off to a great start; however, once the areas Cabernet Sauvignon was ready to harvest, the area was struck with the devastating Glass Fire. While a small percentage of the 2020 Cabernets had been harvested when the fire started, the remainder of the seasons harvest was lost due to the intense heat and smoke. We are glad that we were able to harvest the about 10% of our Cabernet blocks prior to the fire, allowing us to craft this exceptional red wine.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and the J. Davies Estate in Napa Valley, presents its eighth vintage of Davies Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Expanding on knowledge gained through the production of the J. Davies Cabernet Sauvignon wines from the Diamond Mountain estate, this bottling offers a broader exploration of the Napa Valley. A diverse blend of vineyards from the valley floor to both the Mayacamas and Vaca mountain rangeshas allowed the winemaking team to craft a deliciously layered and balanced 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Blending grapes from an array of vineyards means being able to make a wine of great complexity. Seven vineyard sites from across Napa Valley have come together to craft this Cabernet Sauvignon. These vineyards are intentionally farmed to produce low yields which result in vivid, concentrated flavors. The resulting wine, a blend of grapes from vineyards in Atlas Peak, Oakville, Rutherford, Saint Helena, Diamond Mountain, Howell Mountain and Calistoga, exhibits vibrant fruitful flavors, rich texture, and firm structure supported by supple tannins for extended aging.

The Davies family of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley is pleased to release its twelfth vintage of Pinot Noir. The Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is a blend of the Ferrington and Goorgian Vineyards, located at opposite ends of this coastal valley at the southern end of Mendocino County. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies, and Winemakers Sean Thompson and Csilla Kato, are proud to present this appellation-designate Pinot Noir wine from the 2020 vintage.
This offering is a blend of two Anderson Valley vineyard sites. The Ferrington Vineyards property, located approximately 100 miles north of San Francisco and 17 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, is in a fertile pocket of land found at the edge of the northeastern foothills of Mendocino Countys Anderson Valley AVA. Between 360 and 440 feet above sea level, the three acres produce approximately 2.5 tons per acre of bright, complex fruit. Goorgian Vineyards is located at the northwestern end of the Anderson Valley, 10 miles east of the Pacific Ocean and situated on steep rocky north-west facing slopes with an elevation ranging from 200-350 feet. From its highest point you can see down the southeastern end of the valley. Both vineyards are managed by our long-time grape growing partner, Paul Ardzrooni.
The 2020 growing season was mild overall, with bud break occurring earlier than in years past. More spring frost events than typical and little rainfall, set the region up for a low-yielding season resulting in densely concentrated fruit. Harvested grapes delivered beautiful intensity and rich balance.

Schramsberg Brut Rosé is fruitful, complex and dry, making it both versatile with food and delicious by itself as an apéritif. The character of the wine is most strongly influenced by bright, flavorful Pinot Noir grown along the coast from southern Mendocino County to northern Marin County. A few small lots of Pinot Noir are fermented in contact with their skins to add depth and subtle color to this vibrant sparkling wine. Chardonnay gives spice, structure and length on the palate.
Hand picking, careful handling and gentle pressing produce a wine of delicacy, aromatic purity and depth. Following the fall harvest and fermentation of the base wines, extensive tasting trials are carried out in the spring to create a polished blend reflective of the vintage. The finished blend undergoes a second fermentation in bottle before aging on its yeast lees for about two years, just enough to achieve refined effervescence and toastiness without diminishing its refreshing, vibrant appeal.
Enjoy this rich, delicious sparkler on almost any occasion: at your favorite restaurant, a special dinner at home, at a beach picnic or a backyard barbecue. A very versatile wine; try it with sushi, salmon, rock shrimp, pizza, roast chicken, BBQ ribs, caprese and Panzanella salads, red berry tarts, and an array of cheeses, charcuterie, nuts and fresh fruit.
For 2019, winter brought an abundant amount of rainfall which helped restore the water reservoirs that had suffered from years of drought. With additional late rains in May, the vines had ample water for the growing season. The transition from veraision to full ripeness was very consistent due to the warm, but not hot, temperatures that were maintained during the summer. Harvest started slightly later than average, and in the end brought a bountiful crop with exceptional fruit structure, depth of flavor, and bright acidity.

Blanc de Noirs (white from black) is the counterpart to Blanc de Blancs (white from white). Made primarily from the red grape Pinot Noir, this is a complex, medium-bodied, brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg pioneered the Blanc de Noirs style in the United States, producing the first such commercial American sparkler in 1967. The key to producing this Blanc de Noirs is our sourcing of Pinot Noir grapes from a vast and varied selection of cool-climate vineyards. Pinot Noir from low-yielding Sonoma and Marin coastal vineyards combine with fruit from Carneros and Anderson Valley sites, to develop a sparkling wine with a breadth of fruitful aroma and flavor. Select Chardonnay lots are then added, to give zest and backbone to the blend.
Making a white wine from a red grape requires great carehand-picked fruit, early morning harvest, optimal maturity, and delicate pressing. A balance of bright flavors, crisp acidity and minimal tannins is achieved. Barrel and malolactic fermentation of wine lots add richness and body. Yeast contact in the bottle harmonizes all the elements together. The youthful fruit character of the wine will develop and soften with additional age in the bottle. With proper storage, this sparkling wine will be delicious for many years, even decades to come.
Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs is particularly well-suited to serve with a variety of foods, including soft and nutty cheeses, macadamia nut-crusted halibut, and pork tenderloin with fresh rosemary and lemon thyme.

The Schramsberg Crémant Demi-sec is a delicate, off-dry sparkling wine: an American original. Crémant is French for creamy and traditionally refers to a wine with light effervescence. It has approximately two-thirds the pressure of our other sparkling wines and presents a creamier texture with vibrant fruit flavors. Schramsberg made its first Crémant in 1972. After rigorous study, Jack and Jamie Davies chose a unique California grape named Flora (a cross of Sémillon and Gewürztraminer developed at UC Davis) to be the core component of this sparkling wine. Flora unites the fruitful spice of Gewürztraminer with the strength, depth and minerality of Sémillon. Aging on the yeast for 2.5 years prior to disgorgement adds complexity, yet the wine will retain its youthful appeal for 20 years or more.
Schramsberg Crémant Demi-sec has been served at many U.S. State events, including President Reagans Second Inaugural Luncheon and President Obamas White House Dinner for Chinas President Jinping. Most recently, the Crémant Demi-sec was served at President Trumps White House dinner honoring French President Macron.
The sweetness in Crémant is subtle, providing a fine balance with desserts, such as fruit tarts, poached fruits, light cakes, custards, exotic sorbets, gingerbread, and crème brûlée. It also compliments a wide range of spicy Asian foods, blue cheeses, and matches especially well with foie gras.
The 2019 growing season started off with lots of winter rain and cold temperatures. Mild conditions continued throughout the summer with an occasional heat wave allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. The 2019 vintage was a high-quality and relatively large yielding vintage, with balanced acidity and superb flavors.

Blanc de Blancs (white from whites), made from Chardonnay, is the counterpart to the Blanc de Noirs (white from blacks), made from Pinot Noir. Blanc de Blancs was the first wine Schramsberg produced in 1965 and was Americas first commercially produced Chardonnay-based brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs gained international recognition in 1972 when then President Nixon served the wine at the historic Toast to Peace in Beijing, China.
The Schramsberg style of Blanc de Blancs is dry and crisp. Small lots of barrel fermented wines, some of which complete malolactic fermentation, are added to the stainless-steel fermented wines to create added complexity in the blended base wine. After undergoing a second fermentation in bottle, the wine then ages on its yeast lees for about two years prior to disgorgement. With its vibrant, fruitful and focused nature, this sparkling wine will maintain its freshness, structure and refined finish for many years, even decades following its initial release.
While this wine can be enjoyed by itself as an apéritif, it is also perfect with fresh oysters and other shellfish, crab cakes, ceviche and grilled sea bass. It is also delicious with lemon chicken and Thai curries. Serve with aged Gouda or other hard cheeses, and as a counterpoint to soft triple creams.
For 2019, winter brought an abundant amount of rainfall which helped restore the water reservoirs that had suffered from years of drought. With additional late rains in May, the vines had ample water for the growing season. The transition from veraison to full ripeness was very consistent due to the warm, but not hot, temperatures that were maintained during the summer. Harvest started slightly later than average, and in the end brought a bountiful crop with exceptional fruit structure, depth of flavor, and bright acidity.

The Davies family of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley is pleased to release its first vintage of the Davies Vineyards North Coast Pinot Noir. The familys experience with Pinot Noir dates back to 1967, when Jack and Jamie Davies first used this elegant red varietal to make their inaugural vintage of Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine. Over the 55 years following that first use, Schramsbergs winemakers have built long-lasting relationships with some of the best Pinot Noir growers along the North Coast. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies, and Winemakers Sean Thompson and Csilla Kato, are proud to present this appellation-designate Pinot Noir wine from the 2020 vintage.
The North Coast Pinot Noir is crafted from four of our long-standing Pinot Noir sites. The Hyde familys Pinot Noir vineyards, planted in the Napa Valley Carneros AVA, where Haire loam soil provides superb control over the nutrients and water supply for the vines. Northwest from Hyde, in the Sonoma Coasts Fort Ross-Seaview AVA, is the Nobles Vineyard, which provides a modest two tons per acre of vibrant, yet supple, fruit harvested each year on Goldridge loam soil. Further north, in Mendocino Countys Anderson Valley AVA, are the final two vineyards: the Ferrington Vineyards and Goorgian Vineyards. Ferrington is located near the town of Boonville, where the vines utilize over six feet of Boontling and Pinole loam soil to produce bright and complex fruit with great balance. The Goorgian Vineyards are located at the northwestern end of the valley, where shallow loamy topsoil facilitates excellent drainage above a layer of sandstone and shale, stressing the roots to reach for nutrients and water.
The 2020 North Coast wine grape growing season was relatively mild with steady daytime heat and cool evenings. Cooler temperatures during bloom and low winter rains led to lighter than average yields. The resulting high-quality crop was densely concentrated, vibrant, and richly balanced.

Mirabelle is Schramsbergs multi-vintage brut sparkling wine. Twenty years into building an outstanding range of vintage dated sparkling wines, the Davies family set out to master the non-vintage or multi-vintage traditional method technique. A few years of experimentation would ultimately lead to the successful launch of Mirabelle Brut and Mirabelle Brut Rose in 1992. This wine is a specially crafted blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Schramsbergs select cool-climate vineyards in the Napa-Carneros, Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley and Marin County areas of Californias North Coast. Starting in 2022, the Mirabelle packaging started to designate the bottling number to give specificity to each bottling of Mirabelle, and to highlight the vintage which is primarily in the blend. For this 31st bottling, the 2019 vintage makes up 78% of the blend, with the other 22% being from select base wines from previous vintages.
The grapes are picked by hand and gently pressed to provide superior quality juice for the production of this balanced, refreshing rosé bubbly. In the spring following the fall harvest, base wines are individually evaluated and carefully blended by our winemakers. Pinot Noir lots, including a few fermented with skin contact, provide brightness of berry fruit and body, while Chardonnay lots lend length and zest to the palate. Additional flavor depth and aromatic complexity results from the blending of base wine lots aged in barrels and tanks for one or more years. The wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and rests for approximately two years before its release. Following the en tirage aging, an extensive dosage trial process produces the ideal finishing touch, and the sparkling wine is ready to be enjoyed. The finished Brut Rosé exhibits fresh, elegant, and toasty aromas that lead into lively and delicious fruit flavors on the palate.
The multi-vintage Mirabelle Rosé is delicious on its own, and it also pairs well with everything from grilled salmon, BBQ pork ribs, poke tuna, classic Hawaiian pizza or simple pastas.

Unlike our vintage bottlings, Mirabelle gains unique richness from blending additions of aged base wines, stored in barrels and tanks at the winery from prior vintages. These older lots add significant palate richness and aromatic complexity. Starting in 2022, the Mirabelle packaging started to designate the bottling number to give specificity to each bottling of Mirabelle, and to highlight the vintage which is primarily in the blend. For this 31st bottling, the 2019 vintage makes up 80% of the blend, with the other 20% being from select base wines from previous vintages.
This flavorful, bright bubbly exhibits the crisp acidity and vibrant apple/citrus fruit that is characteristic of cool-climate Chardonnay. Pinot Noir adds body to the palate and further depth of fruit flavor. The grapes for Mirabelle are grown in the cool-climate pockets of Californias North Coast, including the Napa-Carneros, Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley, and Marin County. The fruit is hand-picked in the early morning hours at optimal maturity. Individual lot fermentations allow the winemakers to carefully select the components that make up the finished blend. After bottle fermentation and two years of aging en tirage, subsequent trials determine the ideal dosage to finish this brut style.
Mirabelle Brut is delicious as a dry apéritif and is also well-suited as an accompaniment to a broad range of foods, including oysters on the half shell, sushi, baked halibut, country fried chicken, cream-based pasta dishes, fruits, nuts and cheeses.
