The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg and Davies Vineyards in Napa Valley, presents the eighth vintage of the J. Davies Estate Jamie, the finest Cabernet Sauvignon crafted from its historic Diamond Mountain vineyard property. Bearing her signature, this wine is named in honor of Schramsbergs matriarch, the late Jamie Davies. Along with her husband Jack, she revived the Schramsberg property in 1965 with an inspired vision of crafting world-class American sparkling wines. Five decades later a second generation of the Davies family, led by son Hugh and his wife Monique, have taken on the additional challenge of producing extraordinary Cabernet Sauvignon from vines grown on the familys hillside property. They are proud to release the J. Davies Estate Jamie Cabernet Sauvignon, representing the pinnacle of an endeavor that spans 58 years.
The vineyard blocks, totaling 46 acres, are laid out in four isolated pockets ranging from 500 to 1000 feet in elevation. They include the two Schram sections, Napa Valleys first hillside vineyards, originally established in 1862 by Jacob Schram, the McEachran parcel, first planted by Colin McEachran in 1878, and the Claes parcel, dating back to 1984. These are the southernmost vineyards in the Diamond Mountain District AVA. Flanked by two cool creek canyons (Nash Creek to the north and Ritchie Creek to the south) and surrounded by compact coniferous and deciduous forests, the vines here produce late-ripening, richly concentrated fruit with average yields of just two tons per acre.
The 2019 growing season started off with lots of winter rain and cold temperatures. Mild conditions continued throughout the summer with an occasional heat wave allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. The 2019 vintage delivered high quality fruit with relatively large yields, balanced acidity and superb flavors.

Originally released as our J. Schram, with the 2013 vintage this bottling was renamed J. Schram Blancs to denote this wines Chardonnay-based core. From the inception of Schramsbergs efforts in 1965, the winery has sought to achieve the greatest elegance and individuality possible in our sparkling wines. J. Schram Blancs epitomizes Schramsbergs philosophy to create a wine in which no effort has been spared and no care has been omitted. Representing only 2-3% of the winerys annual production, the Chardonnay-focused J. Schram Blancs blend is assembled from the very best base wine lots of the approximately 300 produced each year. This special bottling is dedicated to Schramsbergs founder, Jacob Schram, and has been a great success since its premier 1987 vintage was released in 1992.
Cluster samples from over 115 cool-climate vineyard sources are pulled several times before the optimal pick date for each block is selected. Complexity within the wine is gained through both oak barrel and stainless-steel tank fermentation. Additional layers are provided through small lots that undergo malolactic fermentation in barrel, enriching aromas and infusing creaminess on the palate. Our J. Schram Blancs is aged for eight years on the yeast in Schramsbergs historic Diamond Mountain caves; each bottle is then riddled by hand and finished with an exceptional brut dosage.
J. Schram Blancs is quite appealing on its own as an apéritif or enjoyed with fresh shellfish, caviar on toast point, smoked salmon, sharp cheeses, seafood brochettes, cedar-planked lobster, mesquite-grilled quail, or Serrano ham and porcini risotto.
The 2014 vintage was preceded by an exceptionally dry winter. Substantial rain did arrive in late February and early March, relieving some stress and setting up the vines for a vigorous start to the growing season. A warm spring laid the groundwork for early budbreak, and the vintage ran ahead of schedule to an early harvest. Grapes showed an agile balance between ripe fruit and lively acidity, thanks to abundant sun and cool evening temperatures. Quality of the grapes was outstanding, with intense aromatics and depth of flavor.

The Schramsberg team and the Davies Family is thrilled to release the second bottling of J. Schram Noirs, our finest Pinot Noir brut offering. Labeled as the Schramsberg Reserve for decades, we started bottling our special limited Noirs blend in the J. Schram proprietary glass with the 2013 vintage. We now offer our ultimate sparkling wine tier with three selections: Blancs, Rosé, and Noirs. Representing 2% of our annual production, this richly flavored and full-bodied sparkler is made from only the finest base-wine lots produced each year. We release this finished sparkling wine nine years after the grapes are harvested, yet this fruitful, dry, toasty and creamy bubbly will age gracefully for decades to come.
Though primarily Pinot Noir, small amounts of select Chardonnay lots are added to the blend to lend additional backbone and length to the palate. Distinct barrel and malolactic fermented lots are also layered in to provide viscosity and depth. Each bottle is aged in contact with its yeast in our historic Diamond Mountain hillside caves for eight years, affording the development of seasoned, roasted and caramelized richness. The yeast is then removed and a finishing dosage, determined through extensive and comprehensive trials, is added to fine-tune the wines balance of flavor and structure.
J. Schram Noirs is well-suited with a main course, such as fruit-stuffed veal, pork tenderloin, roast duck with mango, cedar-plank grilled salmon, and curried chicken salad. This flavorful sparkling wine can also be served as an apéritif with smoked oysters, caviar and such hard cheeses as aged Swiss Sbrinz, Sonoma Vella Jack, or Irish Coolea.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and J. Davies Estate in Napa Valley, presents its first bottling of the Oliven Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the Calistoga District. Building upon its Cabernet Sauvignon experience with its home property on Diamond Mountain since 2001, and a broad range of other Napa Valley sites since 2012, the Davies team connected with Oliven in 2020. Second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies, Director of Winemaking Sean Thompson and Consultant Celia Welch have collaborated well together since 2008 in crafting Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons, and they are very proud to present this unique vineyard-designate bottling from the 2020 vintage.
Oliven Vineyard, which is located south of Tubbs Lane within the Calistoga AVA, was developed in 2017. Owners Jon and Joy Alferness planted three blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon in the well-draining alluvial and loamy soils on the property, and have farmed the land organically from the start. At approximately 390 ft. in elevation, daytime temperatures at this altitude are quite warmer allowing for a fast accumulation of sugar and ripening of the fruit during the growing season. Cool maritime air from the Pacific Ocean, which arrives at night, helps the grapes maintain their acidic structure and balance. This combination of geology and climate creates an exceptional site to cultivate delicious Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2020 Napa grape season will be remembered for years to come, but unfortunately for some reasons outside of traditional metrics. The winter was moderate and dry, with limited rain to restore groundwater. Budbreak, flowering and fruit set got the season off to a great start; however, once the areas Cabernet Sauvignon was ready to harvest, the area was struck with the devastating Glass Fire. While a small percentage of the 2020 Cabernets had been harvested when the fire started, the remainder of the seasons harvest was lost due to the intense heat and smoke. We are glad that we were able to harvest the Oliven blocks prior to the fire, allowing us to craft this exceptional red wine.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in Napa Valley, presents its third bottling of the Renteria 360 Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the Oakville District. Building upon its experience with its home property on Diamond Mountain in the valleys western Mayacamas Range, this bottling represents the Davies teams effort with Cabernet Sauvignon from the valleys Oakville appellation. The Oakville AVA extends over an expanse of well-drained gravel soil between the Vaca and Mayacamas Mountains. The soils found here are the result of sedimentary deposits from the hills that form Napa Valley. What makes Oakvilles climate distinctive is its transitional, mid-valley location. Oakville is just far enough south to receive regular morning fog from the San Francisco and San Pablo bays, which slows the warming early in the day. But after the fog blows off by mid-morning, Oakville receives the full benefit of the Napa Valley sun. When afternoon temperatures begin to peak, the bay blows cool breezes north to begin this cooling cycle again.
The Renteria family has been farming in the Napa Valley since 1962. The Renteria 360 Vineyard is located on the north end of Oakville, at the border of Rutherford, just off the Silverado trail. The nearly 60-acre vineyard was planted in 2012 and is comprised of multiple blocks with different clone and rootstock combinations. This wine is crafted from three distinct blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon. Planted to clones 4, 15, and 169 - combined they create a wine rich in depth, color, and flavor.
The 2019 growing season started off with lots of winter rain and cold temperatures. Mild conditions continued throughout the summer with an occasional heat wave allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. The 2019 vintage delivered high quality with relatively large yields, balanced acidity and superb flavors.

Located in Coombsville, the Simpkins Vineyard is managed by viticultuirst Mike Wolfe. Coombsville is a quiet area, in the southeastern corner of the Napa Valley, tucked up against the foothills of the Vaca Mountain Range, just outside of the Napa city limits. Coombsville wines can be recognized by their structured tannins, which provide excellent power and mouthfeel, along with underlying layers of earth and mineral flavors. The vineyard soil is rocky loam, providing good drainage and low nutrient concentration. Under these external stresses the vines work hard to produce a limited amount of high quality fruit.
Coombsvilles temperatures are moderated by its proximity to the San Pablo Bay. Temperate daily highs and minimal heat spikes limit dehydration, preserve acidity levels, and create even ripening patterns. The vines bud early, and the grapes tend to be harvested later, making for a long, slow ripening period which promotes intensified flavors and layering in the finished wine.

Winfield Vineyard, first planted in 2000 with additional blocks added in 2014-2015, is owned and managed by Tom Thornton. Located in the Calistoga AVA, in the northern part of the Napa Valley, Winfield Vineyard is situated in the rising foothills of Mount Saint Helena, at an elevation of 425 to 590 feet. Slightly higher daytime temperatures at this altitude, compared to nearby vineyards at lower elevations, are ideal for ripening. Evenings receive a gradual cooling, as the maritime air is pulled into the area from the Pacific Ocean, allowing the grapes to maintain structural balance during the growing season. With naturally occurring groundwater within the alluvial sedimentary fans of this volcanic soil, a unique combination of geology and climate creates an extraordinary place for growing delicious Cabernet Sauvignon.

Made in a Blanc de Noirs style, focused on the Pinot Noir grape, this Caminante Del Cielo Vineyard bottling showcases an important long-time partners site, which is located in rural Marin County. Produced in limited quantities, this is one of two sparkling wines crafted in 2018 that highlights a specific vineyard within our portfolio. Marin is bordered on three sides by water, the Pacific Ocean to the west, San Pablo and San Francisco Bays to the east, and the Golden Gate to the south. Situated between 600-980 feet, and just east of the peak of Shroyer Mountain, the two blocks have both northwest and southeast facing exposure.
This property contains gravelly and loamy soil, which forces the roots of each vine to struggle to seek out water and nutrients. These conditions assist in consistent production of delicious, small berries and hand-sized clusters. Marins coastal influence keeps temperatures moderately cool during the hottest part of the day, affording slower ripening and longer development on the vine. Because of this extended growing season, Marin County wines are balanced with superb natural acidity and bright fruit flavors.
The long growing season in 2018 revealed a vintage with depth and concentration. While rainfall in Marin was lower than normal in 2018, reserves from the heavy 2017 rains allowed for the vineyards to produce full canopies and normal crop loads. Summer temperatures were moderate, with few regional heat spikes. Ripening tempered by these conditions allowed for harvest to be a few weeks later than average.

This vibrant and complex wine showcases one of the premiere Chardonnay vineyards within the southern Napa Valley AVA, Napa Carneros. It is a bright, crisp sparkler that will age beautifully over the next 20+ years, developing attractive caramelized, nutty, and seasoned flavors and aromas. Made in limited quantities, this is one of two sparkling wines crafted in 2018 that highlights a specific vineyard within our portfolio.
Poseidon Vineyard was first planted in 1984 by Carneros region pioneer, Nicolas Molnar. The Poseidon Vineyard is located at the convergence of the Carneros Creek and the Napa River, as they drain into the picturesque San Pablo Bay. This southernmost region of Napa enjoys a unique maritime climate, influenced by the winds and morning overcast skies driven by the bay to the south. This coastal proximity creates a cool, foggy environment, ideal for cultivating Chardonnay grapes known for their elegant flavors and balanced acidity. The vineyards soil primarily consist of loamy clay, which retains moisture and provides excellent drainage, contributing to the health of each vine and the production of exceptional wines.
For the 2018 vintage, early season rains caused both bud break and flowering to start late. However, ideal weather conditions persisted to start the season, creating plentiful and even fruit set. Summer brought generous sun and the cooler marine influences of the Carneros AVA were virtually uninterrupted by major heat spikes. This relatively mild summer was followed by extended fall sunshine and moderate heat. These near-ideal conditions resulted in superb grape quality, with complex flavors and balanced acidity.

The Davies family, of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley, is proud to release its inaugural Pinot Noir release from Poseidon Vineyard. The familys experience with Pinot Noir dates back to 1967, when Jack and Jamie Davies first used this elegant red varietal to make their inaugural vintage of Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine. Over the 56 years following that first use, Schramsbergs winemakers have built long-lasting relationships with some of the best Pinot Noir growers and vineyards in the North Coast. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies, along with Winemakers Sean Thompson and Jessica Koga, present this vineyard-designate Pinot Noir wine from the 2021 vintage.
Poseidon Vineyard was first planted in 1984 by Carneros region pioneer, Nicolas Molnar. The Poseidon Vineyard can be found where the convergence of Carneros Creek and Napa River meets the picturesque San Pablo Bay. The vineyards soils primarily consist of loamy clay, which retain moisture and provide excellent drainage, contributing to the vines health and the production of exceptional wines.
The 2021 Napa Valley growing season started with minimal rain. Due to depleted water tables from two years of drought, the vines naturally carried less crop. With smaller berries and clusters, the fruit possessed remarkably concentrated flavors. Harvest started early and ended quickly due to the lighter yields. The dense and delicious Pinot Noir fruit quality of this vintage resulted in exceptional wines.

The Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut is produced for the growing number of enthusiasts who desire a drier sparkling wine for certain occasions. This style of wine is finished with a dosage of between 0.2 - 0.6 g/100 mL of residual sugar, which is about half that of our other brut offerings. Sparkling wine producers across the globe have been able to develop brighter intensity of fruit flavors in the grapes that they grow, and Schramsberg is no exception. As our cool coastal vineyards produce grapes with riper Pinot Noir and Chardonnay characteristics, we have been encouraged to explore lower dosage levels while maintaining superb flavor and balance in the wine.
Blanc de Noirs (white from black) is the counterpart to Blanc de Blancs (white from white). Made primarily from the red grape Pinot Noir, this is a complex, medium-bodied, brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg pioneered the Blanc de Noirs style in the United States, producing the first such commercial American sparkler in 1967. Pinot Noir from low-yielding Sonoma and Marin coastal vineyards combine with fruit from Carneros and Anderson Valley sites, to develop a sparkling wine with a breadth of fruitful aroma and flavor. Select Chardonnay lots are then added, to give zest and backbone to the blend.
Making a white wine from a red grape requires great carehand-picked fruit, early morning harvest, optimal maturity, and delicate pressing. A balance of bright flavors, crisp acidity and minimal tannins is achieved. Barrel and malolactic fermentation of wine lots add richness and body. Yeast contact in the bottle harmonizes all the elements together in a toasty style. The youthful fruit character of the wine will develop and soften with additional age in the bottle. With proper storage, this sparkling wine will be delicious for many years, even decades to come.
The winter proceeding the 2019 vintage brought an abundant amount of rainfall, giving vines ample water for the growing season. The transition from veraison to full ripeness was very consistent due to the warm, but not hot, temperatures that were maintained during the summer. Harvest started slightly later than average, and in the end brought a bountiful crop with exceptional fruit structure, depth of flavor, and bright acidity.

The Davies family, of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley, is pleased to release the 2021 vintage of its Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. This wine is a blend crafted from Dutton-Hallberg, Keefer Ranch and Nobles Vineyards. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies, along with Winemakers Sean Thompson and Jessica Koga, present this delicious appellation-designate Pinot Noir wine from the 2021 vintage.
Dutton-Hallberg and Keefer Ranch are located in the Green Valley AVA within the Russian River Valley. Predominantly Goldridge soil, well drained throughout the growing season, this ground generates moderate vine vigor, ideally suited for the growth of densely concentrated Pinot Noir wine grapes. The vineyards profit from a long, cool hang time resulting in fruit with outstanding color, extraction, and balanced tannins. Nobles Vineyard, in the Fort Ross-Seaview AVA, produces Pinot Noir with vibrant red berry flavors and a supple, layered texture. The vineyards are on the eastern slopes of the second mountain ridge in from the Pacific Ocean, between 950 and 1,050 feet above sea level.
The 2021 Sonoma Coast growing season started out cold and progressed into a mildly warm summer. Hot days and cold nights allowed for steady ripening throughout the season. The fall was free of any long and lingering heat waves, allowing the fruit to develop to ideal ripeness with vibrant fruit flavors. Overall, these excellent growing conditions resulted in beautifully balanced wines.

Schramsberg Brut Rosé is fruitful, complex and dry, making it both versatile with food and delicious by itself as an apéritif. The character of the wine is most strongly influenced by bright, flavorful Pinot Noir grown along Californias North coast from southern Mendocino County to northern Marin County. A few small lots of Pinot Noir are fermented in contact with their skins to add depth and subtle color to this vibrant sparkling wine. Chardonnay gives spice, structure and length on the palate.
Hand picking, careful handling and gentle pressing produce a wine of delicacy, aromatic purity and depth. Following the fall harvest and fermentation of the base wines, extensive tasting trials are carried out in the spring to create a polished blend reflective of the vintage. The finished blend undergoes a second fermentation in bottle before aging on its yeast lees for about two years, just enough to achieve refined effervescence and toastiness without diminishing its refreshing, vibrant appeal.
Enjoy this rich, delicious sparkler on almost any occasion: at your favorite restaurant, a special dinner at home, at a beach picnic or a backyard barbecue. A very versatile wine; try it with sushi, salmon, rock shrimp, roast chicken, BBQ ribs, caprese and Panzanella salads, red berry tarts, and an array of cheeses, charcuterie, nuts and fresh fruit.
The 2020 growing season was preceded by a dry, mild winter. Bud break began earlier than normal and crop yields were light, which led to an early harvest start. Cool and moderate summer conditions gave way to heat spells and forest fires through August and September. Our team worked through these challenges to produce a delicious array of sparkling wines.

The Schramsberg Crémant Demi-sec is a delicate, off-dry sparkling wine: an American original. Crémant is French for creamy and traditionally refers to a wine with light effervescence. It has approximately two-thirds the pressure of our other sparkling wines and presents a creamier texture with vibrant fruit flavors. Schramsberg made its first Crémant in 1972. After rigorous study, Jack and Jamie Davies chose a unique California grape named Flora (a cross of Sémillon and Gewürztraminer developed at UC Davis) to be the core component of this sparkling wine. Flora unites the fruitful spice of Gewürztraminer with the strength, depth and minerality of Sémillon. Aging on the yeast for 2.5 years prior to disgorgement adds complexity, yet the wine will retain its youthful appeal for 20 years or more.
Schramsberg Crémant Demi-sec has been served at many U.S. State events, including President Reagans Second Inaugural Luncheon and President Obamas White House Dinner for Chinas President Jinping. Most recently, the Crémant Demi-sec was served at President Bidens White House dinner honoring the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit.
The sweetness in Crémant is subtle, providing a fine balance with desserts, such as fruit tarts, poached fruits, light cakes, custards, exotic sorbets, gingerbread, and crème brûlée. It also compliments a wide range of spicy Asian foods, blue cheeses, and matches especially well with foie gras.

Blanc de Blancs (white from whites), made from Chardonnay, is the counterpart to the Blanc de Noirs (white from blacks), made from Pinot Noir. Blanc de Blancs was the first wine Schramsberg produced in 1965 and was Americas first commercially produced Chardonnay-based brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs gained international recognition in 1972 when then President Nixon served the wine at the historic Toast to Peace in Beijing, China.
The Schramsberg style of Blanc de Blancs is dry and crisp. Small lots of barrel fermented wines, some of which complete malolactic fermentation, are added to stainless-steel fermented wines to create added complexity in the blended base wine. After undergoing a second fermentation in bottle, the wine then ages on its yeast lees for about two years prior to disgorgement. With its vibrant, fruitful and focused nature, this sparkling wine will maintain its freshness, structure and refined finish for many years, even decades following its initial release.
While this wine can be enjoyed by itself as an apéritif, it is also perfect with fresh oysters and other shellfish, crab cakes, ceviche and grilled sea bass. It is also delicious with lemon chicken and Thai curries. Serve with aged Gouda or other hard cheeses, and as a counterpoint to soft triple creams.
The 2020 growing season was cool to moderate for most of spring and summer with heat spells occurring early August, which sped up the ripening of the fruit that was on the vines. Fortunately, the sparkling wine grapes were harvested and safely in tank and barrel prior to the Glass fire and with no impact. Despite the challenges, the vintage looked very promising with high-quality fruit that turned into fantastic sparkling wine.

Mirabelle is Schramsbergs multi-vintage brut sparkling wine. Twenty years into building an outstanding range of vintage dated sparkling wines, the Davies family set out to master the non-vintage or multi-vintage traditional method technique. A few years of experimentation would ultimately lead to the successful launch of Mirabelle Brut and Mirabelle Brut Rose in 1992. This wine is a specially crafted blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Schramsbergs select cool-climate vineyards in the Napa-Carneros, Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley and Marin County areas of Californias North Coast. Starting in 2022, the Mirabelle packaging started to designate the bottling number to give specificity to each bottling of Mirabelle, and to highlight the vintage which is primarily in the blend. For this 31st bottling, the 2019 vintage makes up 78% of the blend, with the other 22% being from select base wines from previous vintages.
The grapes are picked by hand and gently pressed to provide superior quality juice for the production of this balanced, refreshing rosé bubbly. In the spring following the fall harvest, base wines are individually evaluated and carefully blended by our winemakers. Pinot Noir lots, including a few fermented with skin contact, provide brightness of berry fruit and body, while Chardonnay lots lend length and zest to the palate. Additional flavor depth and aromatic complexity results from the blending of base wine lots aged in barrels and tanks for one or more years. The wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and rests for approximately two years before its release. Following the en tirage aging, an extensive dosage trial process produces the ideal finishing touch, and the sparkling wine is ready to be enjoyed. The finished Brut Rosé exhibits fresh, elegant, and toasty aromas that lead into lively and delicious fruit flavors on the palate.
The multi-vintage Mirabelle Rosé is delicious on its own, and it also pairs well with everything from grilled salmon, BBQ pork ribs, poke tuna, classic Hawaiian pizza or simple pastas.

Unlike our vintage bottlings, Mirabelle gains unique richness from blending additions of aged base wines, stored in barrels and tanks at the winery from prior vintages. These older lots add significant palate richness and aromatic complexity. Starting in 2022, the Mirabelle packaging started to designate the bottling number to give specificity to each bottling of Mirabelle, and to highlight the vintage which is primarily in the blend. For this 32nd bottling, the 2020 vintage makes up 78% of the blend, with the other 22% coming from select previous vintage lots.
This flavorful, bright bubbly exhibits the crisp acidity and vibrant apple/citrus fruit that is characteristic of cool-climate Chardonnay. Pinot Noir adds body to the palate and further depth of fruit flavor. The grapes for Mirabelle are grown in the cool-climate pockets of Californias North Coast, including the Napa-Carneros, Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley, and Marin County. The fruit is hand-picked in the early morning hours at optimal maturity. Individual lot fermentations allow the winemakers to carefully select the components that make up the finished blend. After bottle fermentation and two years of aging en tirage, subsequent trials determine the ideal dosage to finish this brut style.
Mirabelle Brut is delicious as a dry apéritif and is also well-suited as an accompaniment to a broad range of foods, including oysters on the half shell, sushi, baked halibut, country fried chicken, cream-based pasta dishes, fruits, nuts and cheeses.
