A rare library offering of our J. Schram, each bottle rested on the lees in our historic caves for over seven years, until it was disgorged. Following disgorgement, each of these bottles have been able to rest for an additional four years on the dosage, creating a richly layered offering to enjoy.
From the inception of Schramsberg's efforts in 1965, the winery has sought to achieve the greatest elegance and individuality possible in our sparkling wines. J. Schram epitomizes Schramsberg's philosophy to create a wine in which no effort has been spared and no care has been omitted. Representing only 3% of the winerys annual production, the Chardonnay-focused J. Schram blend is assembled from the very best base wine lots of the approximately 300 produced each year. This special bottling is dedicated to Schramsbergs founder, Jacob Schram, and has been a great success since its premier 1987 vintage was released in 1992.
Cluster samples from over 115 cool-climate vineyard sources are pulled several times before the optimal pick date for each block is selected. Complexity within the wine is gained through both oak barrel and stainless-steel tank fermentation. Additional layers are provided through small lots that undergo malolactic fermentation, enriching aromas and infusing creaminess on the palate. Our J. Schram is aged for over seven years on the yeast in Schramsbergs historic Diamond Mountain caves; each bottle is then riddled by hand and finished with an exceptional brut dosage.
J. Schram is quite appealing on its own as an apéritif or enjoyed with fresh shellfish, caviar on toast point, smoked salmon, sharp cheeses, seafood brochettes, cedar-planked lobster, mesquite-grilled quail, or Serrano ham and porcini risotto.
Despite an irregular growing season, the 2010 vintage produced an excellent set of wines. Higher acidities and fresh fruit tones, a consequence of the unusually cool season, make the vintage especially compelling - and drinkable. The fruit delivered exceptional quality and density, resulting in beautifully crafted wines, with rich fruit and elegance, that will be collectable far into the future.

Reserve is Schramsbergs top Pinot Noir-focused brut sparkling wine. Representing 2% of our annual production, this richly flavored and full-bodied sparkler is made from only the finest base-wine lots produced each year. We release this finished sparkling wine nearly 9 years after the fruit is harvested, yet this fruitful and dry, toasty and creamy bubbly will age gracefully for decades to come.
Though primarily Pinot Noir, small amounts of select Chardonnay lots are added to the blend to lend additional backbone and length to the palate. Distinct barrel and malolactic fermented lots are also layered in to provide viscosity and depth. Each bottle is aged in contact with its yeast in our historic Diamond Mountain hillside caves for approximately eight years, affording the development of seasoned, roasted and caramelized richness. The yeast is then removed and a finishing dosage, determined through extensive and comprehensive trials, is added to fine-tune the wines balance of flavor and structure.
Schramsberg Reserve is well-suited with a main course, such as fruit-stuffed veal, pork tenderloin, roasted duck with mango, cedar-plank grilled salmon, and curried chicken salad. This flavorful sparkling wine can also be served as an apéritif with smoked oysters, caviar and such hard cheeses as aged Swiss Sbrinz, Sonoma Vella Jack, or Irish Coolea.
The 2012 North Coast wine grape harvest saw textbook conditions, with an ideal bud break and flowering, that led to an even fruit set over the spring. A lengthy stretch of warm days and cool, foggy nights during the summer months, was ideal for the grapes as they matured. Any significant rains held off until the grapes found optimal ripeness, promoting exceptional fruit quality with a uniform balance of acids and sugars.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in Napa Valley, presents its sixth bottling of the Red Cap Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the Howell Mountain District. Building upon its experience with its home property on Diamond Mountain in the valleys western Mayacamas Range, this bottling represents the Davies teams effort with Cabernet Sauvignon from the valleys eastern Vaca Range. Second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies, Director of Winemaking Sean Thompson and Consultant Celia Welch have collaborated well together since 2008 in crafting Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons, and they are very proud to present this unique vineyard-designate bottling from the 2018 vintage.
Red Cap Vineyard, planted in 2003 and farmed biodynamically by the Altemus family, is located near the summit of Howell Mountain at an elevation of 1,900 feet. At this location, the Aiken loam and red rocky volcanic soils provide great root support and drainage. The well-drained mountain soils produce smaller berries with higher skin to juice ratio, deepening the color of the wine while increasing tannins. Howell Mountain is known for powerful tannins, however our winemaking team skillfully extracts just enough to produce a wine with rounded and balanced structure. Red Caps position above the fog line has a broad temperature range throughout the day. When compared to the valley floor, evening temperatures are warmer and daytime temperatures are cooler, which supports greater acid retention within the grapes. This combination of soil and environmental conditions leads to an extraordinary site for growing delicious Cabernet Sauvignon.
The long growing season in 2018 revealed a vintage with concentration without being overripe. Despite a warm February, the growing season started off cooler than the past few vintages. A cool spring meant bloom lasted longer than usual, which resulted in a bountiful crop. Summer temperatures were moderate with fewer heat spikes than in recent years. Veraison started later as well, and as a result, harvest started two to three weeks later than in recent years. The resulting fruit exhibited exceptional structure with depth of flavor and noticeable brightness.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and the J. Davies Estate in Napa Valley, presents its second vintage of Davies Vineyards Renteria 360 Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. Expanding on two decades of knowledge gained through the production of the world-class site-specific Cabernet Sauvignons from various pockets within the Napa Valley, this bottling offers a glimpse of this particular vineyard located in the Oakville sub-appellation.
The Oakville AVA extends over an expanse of well-drained gravel soil between the Vaca and Mayacamas Mountains. The soils found in this AVA is the result of sedimentary deposits from the hills that form Napa Valley. What makes Oakvilles climate distinctive is its transitional, mid-valley location. Oakville is just far enough south to receive regular morning fog from the San Francisco and San Pablo bays, which slows the warming early in the day. But after the fog blows off by mid-morning, Oakville receives the full benefit of the Napa Valley sun. When afternoon temperatures begin to peak, the bay blows cool breezes north to begin this cooling cycle again.
The Renteria family has been farming in the Napa Valley since 1962. The Renteria 360 Vineyard is located on the north end of Oakville, at the border of Rutherford, just off the Silverado trail. The nearly 60-acre vineyard was planted in 2012 and is comprised of multiple blocks with different clone and rootstock combinations. This wine is crafted from three distinct blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon clones 4, 15, and 169 - combined they create a wine rich in depth, color, and flavor.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in Napa Valley, presents its second vintage bottling of the Simpkins Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the Coombsville District. Building upon its experience with its home property on Diamond Mountain in the valleys western Mayacamas Range, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies, Director of Winemaking Sean Thompson and Consultant Celia Welch have developed an excellent collaboration over the past decade in crafting Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons, and they are very proud to present this unique vineyard-designate bottling from the 2018 vintage.
Located in Combsville, the Simpkins Vineyard is managed by viticultuirst Mike Wolfe. Coombsville is a quiet area, in the southeastern corner of the Napa Valley, tucked up against the foothills of the Vaca Maountain Range, just outside of the Napa city limits. Coombsville wines can be recognized by their structured tannins, which provide excellent power and mouthfeel, along with underlying layers of earth and mineral flavors. The vineyard soil is rocky loam, providing good drainage and low nutrient concentration. Under these external stresses the vines work hard to produce a limited amount of the best quality fruit.
Coombsvilles temperatures are moderated by its proximity to the San Pablo Bay. Temperate daily highs and minimal heat spikes limit dehydration, preserves acidity levels, and generally aids even ripening patterns. The vines bud early, and the grapes tend to be harvested later, making for a long, slow ripening period which promotes intensified flavors and layering in the finished wine.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in Napa Valley, presents its sixth vintage bottling of the Winfield Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the Calistoga District. Winfield Vineyard, first planted in 2000 with additional blocks added in 2014-2015, is owned and managed by Tom Thornton. Located in the Calistoga AVA, in the northern part of the Napa Valley, Winfield Vineyard is situated in the rising foothills of Mount Saint Helena, at an elevation of 425 to 590 feet, on a sloping bench above the valley floor. Slightly higher daytime temperatures at this altitude, compared to nearby vineyards at lower elevations, are ideal for the ripening of the fruit. Evenings receive a gradual cooling, as the maritime air is pulled into the area from the Pacific Ocean, allowing the grapes to maintain structural balance during the growing season. With natural occurring groundwater within the alluvial sedimentary fans of volcanic soil, this unique combination of geology and climate creates an extraordinary place for growing delicious Cabernet Sauvignon with a round, dark richness on the palate.

Approximately 20 miles north of the San Francisco and San Pablo Bays, nestled between the Mayacamas and Vaca Mountain ranges, lies appellation St. Helena. The shape of this appellations geography and distance from the cool waters of the Bays and the Pacific Ocean set this historic location apart from any other growing region in the world. Vineyards are located on ancient alluvial fans, and on the valley floor that sweeps toward the Napa River. Consistent sunshine and the unique hourglass shape of the region contribute to a wide fluctuation of temperature during the growing season. Heat is locked in during the day and is amplified by the hillsides; at night, that same slender width funnels moderating breezes to dramatically cool the vines, sometimes by as much as 40 to 50 degrees. This extreme shift in temperature helps the fruit retain ideal balance and acidity.
This bottling is comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon from four vineyards: Denali Estate on Taplin Rd, Dr. Gold on Main Street, River Run on Zinfandel Lane and Benesserere off Big Tree Road. All vineyards, located on the valley floor, benefit from the great summer warmth and sunlight.

The Davies family of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley is pleased to release its eleventh vintage of Pinot Noir still wines. The familys experience with Pinot Noir dates back to 1967, when Jack and Jamie Davies first used this elegant red varietal to make their inaugural vintage of Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine. Over the 54 years following that first use, Schramsbergs winemakers have built long-lasting relationships with some of the best Pinot Noir growers along the North Coast. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies and Winemakers Sean Thompson and Jessica Koga are proud to present this vineyard-designate Pinot Noir wine from the 2019 vintage.
The Ferrington Vineyards property, located approximately 100 miles north of San Francisco and 17 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, is in a fertile pocket of land found at the edge of the northeastern foothills of Mendocino Countys Anderson Valley. Between 360 and 440 feet above sea level, the vines utilize over six feet of Boontling and Pinole loam soil, sustainable farming practices, and deficit irrigation to produce approximately 2.5 tons per acre of bright, complex fruit with great balance. Cool, foggy nights and steadily warming days provide a long, even growing season which delivers mature fruit depth with a vibrant, acidic backbone. Ferrington Vineyards is managed by our long-time grape growing partner, Paul Ardzrooni.
The 2019 growing season in Anderson Valley started off with a wet spring, causing bud break and bloom to occurr later than normal. The weather remained moderate through most of the season; canopies were healthy, and strong allowing for gradual ripening. The starting date of harvest was average compared to previous years, with yields coming in light to normal. With lighter yields, vines were able to produce fruit with exceptional quality, balanced acidity, and concentrated flavors and aromas.

The Davies family of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley is pleased to release its sixth vintage of its Goorgian Vineyards Pinot Noir. The familys experience with Pinot Noir dates back to 1967, when Jack and Jamie Davies first used this elegant red varietal to make their inaugural vintage of Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine. Over the 54 years following that first use, Schramsbergs winemakers have built long-lasting relationships with some of the best Pinot Noir growers in the North Coast. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies and Winemakers Sean Thompson and Jessica Koga are proud to present this vineyard-designate Pinot Noir from southern Mendocino Countys Anderson Valley.
The Goorgian Vineyards are located at the northwestern end of the Anderson Valley, 10 miles east of the Pacific Ocean and situated on steep, rocky northwest facing slopes with an elevation ranging from 200-350 feet. Shallow loamy topsoil facilitates excellent drainage above a layer of sandstone and shale, stressing the roots to reach for nutrients and water. Cooler daily temperatures are ideal for Pinot Noir with nightly coastal breezes dropping into the 50s, creating the perfect sugar to acid balance in the grapes. This environment provides a long, even growing season which delivers mature fruit depth with a vibrant, acidic backbone. Goorgian Vineyards is managed by our long-time grape growing partner Paul Ardzrooni.

The Davies family of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley is proud to release their inaugural Pinot Noir release from the Keefer Ranch, which was purchased in 2019. The familys experience with Pinot Noir dates back to 1967, when Jack and Jamie Davies first used this elegant red varietal to make their first vintage of Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine. Over the 54 years following that first use, Schramsbergs winemakers have built long-lasting relationships with some of the best Pinot Noir growers in the North Coast. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies and Winemakers Sean Thompson and Jessica Koga are proud to present this appellation-designate Pinot Noir wine from the 2019 vintage.
The Keefer Ranch is located in the headwaters of Green Valley Creek, with gently sloping, draining soils and a south-facing exposure. Keefer Ranch is planted on Goldridge Loam which is valued for its suitability for growing Pinot Noir. The vineyard profits from a long, cool hang time resulting in fruit with outstanding color, extraction and balanced tannins. The Keefer Ranch Pinot Noir shows ripe cherry, cranberry fruit, spice, lively acidity, soft tannins, supple texture, and beautiful structure.
The 2019 growing season had a record winter rainfall, a cool spring, and a summer growing season that was near perfect for Sonoma County winegrapes. Cooler than normal summer temperatures slowed down fruit ripening pushing back harvest in many areas compared to recent seasons. Harvest began in our vineyard sites in mid-Septemeber. The resulting wine reflects the high-quality, densly concentrated fruit from this vintage.

The Davies family of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley is pleased to release the third bottling of their Three Amigos Pinot Noir from the Carneros Napa Valley AVA. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies and Winemakers Sean Thompson and Jessica Koga are proud to present this delicious vineyard-designate Pinot Noir wine from the 2019 vintage.
This wine is crafted solely from the Three Amigos Vineyard, a certified organic and biodynamic Pinot Noir vineyard in the Napa Valley Carneros region, owned and managed by Robert Sinskey. At a short distance from the Napa Marina, its a cool, foggy, and breezy location that Pinot Noir loves. Carneros - occasionally called Los Carneros - stretches across the southern portion of both Napa and Sonoma Valleys. Located just north of the San Pablo Bay, Carneros benefits from the bays cooling air and morning fog. Grapes from this cooler sub-appellation ripen more slowly, retaining acidity and developing complexity, and though there are now several cool-climate areas specializing in Pinot Noir, Carneros was one of the earlier-planted Pinot regions in California.
The 2019 growing season was an interesting one, starting later than previous years, due to cold temperatures and lots of winter rain. Mild heat throughout the summer with the occasional heat wave allowed the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. 2019 produced a relatively large yielding and high-quality vintage, with balanced acidity and superb flavors.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards in Napa Valley, presents its fourteenth vintage of J. Davies Estate jd Cabernet Sauvignon. Like its companion J. Davies Estate bottlings, this red wine is crafted solely from the densely flavored, richly structured fruit grown on the familys hillside property. Following the blending of J. Davies, the winemaking team carefully select from the remaining barrels of wine to craft this offering. Vibrant and approachable as a young wine, the medium-bodied jd is released after two and a half years of aging. Bearing the initials of Jack Davies, who along with his wife, Jamie, revived the historic Schramsberg winery property in 1965, it is the product of an intimate knowledge of this place, and a passion to create delicious Cabernet Sauvignon.
The vineyard blocks, totaling 46 acres, are laid out in four isolated pockets ranging from 500 to 1000 feet in elevation. They include the two Schram sections, Napa Valleys first hillside vineyards, originally established in 1862 by Jacob Schram, the McEachran parcel, first planted by Colin McEachran in 1878, and the Claes parcel, dating back to 1984. These are the southernmost vineyards in the Diamond Mountain District AVA. Flanked by two cool creek canyons (Nash Creek to the north and Ritchie Creek to the south) and surrounded by compact coniferous and deciduous forests, the vines here produce late-ripening, richly concentrated fruit with average yields of just two tons per acre.

The long growing season in 2018 revealed a vintage with structure and concentration without being overripe. The result was fruit exhibiting firm tannins, with outstanding color and brightness.

The Davies family, proprietors of Schramsberg Vineyards and the J. Davies Estate in Napa Valley, presents its eighth vintage of Davies Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Expanding on knowledge gained through the production of the J. Davies Cabernet Sauvignon wines from the Diamond Mountain estate, this bottling offers a broader exploration of the Napa Valley. A diverse blend of vineyards from the valley floor to both the Mayacamas and Vaca mountain rangeshas allowed the winemaking team to craft a deliciously layered and balanced 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Blending grapes from an array of vineyards means being able to make a wine of great complexity. Seven vineyard sites from across Napa Valley have come together to craft this Cabernet Sauvignon. These vineyards are intentionally farmed to produce low yields which result in vivid, concentrated flavors. The resulting wine, a blend of grapes from vineyards in Atlas Peak, Oakville, Rutherford, Saint Helena, Diamond Mountain, Howell Mountain and Calistoga, exhibits vibrant fruitful flavors, rich texture, and firm structure supported by supple tannins for extended aging.
The Napa Valley was Californias first AVA, or American Viticultural Area, recognized by the U.S. government in 1981. Though just 30 miles long and a few miles wide, Napa Valley is one of the most geologically diverse wine regions in the world. Home to various microclimates, terrain and soils, it has a dry Mediterranean climate which is ideal for producing consistent wines from vintage to vintage. This climate provides near perfect growing conditions during the peak growing season with little rainfall, warm days, and cool nights. Throughout the growing season, the canopy is carefully managed to ensure optimal fruit development.

Our Blanc de Blanc Extra Brut is the most crisp, dry, and palate-cleansing sparkling wine in our portfolio. Finished with a dosage of 0.4 g/100 mL of residual sugar, about half that of our traditional Blanc de Blancs bottling, it will be ideal with oysters on-the-half-shell, caviar, smoked salmon or your favorite potato chip. Our extraordinary set of cool-climate, North Coast vineyards produce Chardonnay grapes with both vibrant natural acidity and a brightness of citrus, apple and tropical fruit flavor that can be beautifully balanced across a range of low dosage levels.
Blanc de Blancs (white from whites), made from Chardonnay, is the counterpart to the Blanc de Noirs (white from blacks), made from Pinot Noir. Blanc de Blancs was the first wine Schramsberg produced in 1965 and was Americas first commercially produced Chardonnay-based brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs gained international recognition in 1972 when then President Nixon served the wine at the historic Toast to Peace in Beijing, China.
In the Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs, small lots of barrel fermented wines, some of which complete malolactic fermentation, are added to the stainless-steel fermented wines to create added complexity in the blended base wine. After undergoing a second fermentation in bottle, this wine was aged on its yeast lees for thirty months prior to disgorgement. With its lively and focused nature, this sparkling wine will maintain its freshness, structure, and refined finish for many years, even decades following its initial release.
Veraison was delayed as well, and harvest started two to three weeks later than normal. The resulting fruit exhibited exceptional structure and depth of flavor.

The Davies family of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley is pleased to release its eleventh vintage of Pinot Noir still wines. The Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is a blend of the Ferrington and Goorgian Vineyards, located at opposite ends of this coastal valley at the southern end of Mendocino County. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies and Winemakers Sean Thompson and Jessica Koga are proud to present this appellation-designate Pinot Noir wine from the 2019 vintage.
The Ferrington Vineyards property, located approximately 100 miles north of San Francisco and 17 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean, is in a fertile pocket of land found at the edge of the northeastern foothills of Mendocino Countys Anderson Valley AVA. Between 360 and 440 feet above sea level, the three acres produce approximately 2.5 tons per acre of bright, complex fruit. Goorgian Vineyards is located at the northwestern end of the Anderson Valley, 10 miles east of the Pacific Ocean and situated on steep rocky north-west facing slopes with an elevation ranging from 200-350 feet. From its highest point you can see down the southeastern end of the valley. Both vineyards are managed by our long-time grape growing partner, Paul Ardzrooni.
The 2019 growing season in Anderson Valley started off with a wet spring, causing bud break and bloom to occur later than normal. The weather remained moderate through most of the season; canopies were healthy, and full allowing for gradual ripening. The starting date of harvest was average compared to previous years, with yields coming in light to normal. With lighter yields, vines were able to produce fruit with exceptional quality, balanced acidity, and concentrated flavors and aromas.

The Davies family of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley is pleased to release its fifth vintage of Napa Valley Carneros Pinot Noir. This wine is a blend of Pinot Noir from Three Amigos, and Hyde Vineyards. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies and Winemakers Sean Thompson and Jessica Koga are proud to present this appellation-designate Pinot Noir wine from the 2019 vintage.
Three Amigos Vineyard is a certified organic and biodynamic Pinot Noir vineyard in the Napa Valley Carneros region. At a short distance from the Napa Marina, its a cool, foggy, and breezy location that Pinot Noir loves. Hyde Vineyards are planted in the foothills just north of the Carneros Bayview District. The grapes are favorably influenced by the nightly cooling effect from the closely located San Pablo Bay, retaining the wines balanced acidity. The vines on the property thrive on three feet of loamy topsoil above an impenetrable clay subsoil. This combination provides control over the nutrients and water supply for the vines.

The Davies family of Schramsberg Vineyards and Davies Vineyards in the Napa Valley is pleased to release the 2019 vintage of their Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. This wine is a blend crafted from Keefer Ranch and Nobles Vineyards. The familys experience with Pinot Noir dates back to 1967, when Jack and Jamie Davies first used this elegant red varietal to make their inaugural vintage of Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs sparkling wine. Over 54 years following that first use, Schramsbergs winemakers have built long-lasting relationships with some of the best Pinot Noir growers in the North Coast. Developing upon this passion, history, and experience, second-generation Vintner Hugh Davies and Winemakers Sean Thompson and Jessica Koga are proud to present this delicious appellation-designate Pinot Noir wine from the 2019 vintage.
The Keefer Ranch is located in the headwaters of Green Valley Creek, with gently sloping, draining soils and a, south-facing exposure. Nobles Vineyard, in the Fort Ross-Seaview AVA, produces Pinot Noir with vibrant red berry flavors and a supple, layered texture. The vineyards are on the eastern slopes of the second mountain ridge in from the Pacific Ocean, between 950 and 1,050 feet above sea level.
The 2019 growing season had a record winter rainfall, a cool spring, and a summer growing season that was near perfect for Sonoma County wine grapes. Cooler than normal summer temperatures slowed down fruit ripening, pushing back harvest in many areas compared to recent seasons. Harvest began in our vineyard sites in mid-September. The resulting wine reflects the high-quality, densely concentrated fruit of this vintage.

Schramsberg Brut Rosé is fruitful, complex and dry, making it both versatile with food and delicious by itself as an apéritif. The character of the wine is most strongly influenced by bright, flavorful Pinot Noir grown along the coast from southern Mendocino County to northern Marin County. A few small lots of Pinot Noir are fermented in contact with their skins to add depth and subtle color to this vibrant sparkling wine. Chardonnay gives spice, structure and length on the palate.
Hand picking, careful handling and gentle pressing produce a wine of delicacy, aromatic purity and depth. Following the fall harvest and fermentation of the base wines, extensive tasting trials are carried out in the spring to create a polished blend reflective of the vintage. The finished blend undergoes a second fermentation in bottle before aging on its yeast lees for about two years, just enough to achieve refined effervescence and toastiness without diminishing its refreshing, vibrant appeal.
Enjoy this rich, delicious sparkler on almost any occasion: at your favorite restaurant, a special dinner at home, at a beach picnic or a backyard barbecue. A very versatile wine; try it with sushi, salmon, rock shrimp, pizza, roast chicken, BBQ ribs, caprese and Panzanella salads, red berry tarts, and an array of cheeses, charcuterie, nuts and fresh fruit.

The Schramsberg Crémant Demi-sec is a delicate, off-dry sparkling wine: an American original. Crémant is French for creamy and traditionally refers to a wine with light effervescence. It has approximately two-thirds the pressure of our other sparkling wines and presents a creamier texture with vibrant fruit flavors. Schramsberg made its first Crémant in 1972. After rigorous study, Jack and Jamie Davies chose a unique California grape named Flora (a cross of Sémillon and Gewürztraminer developed at UC Davis) to be the core component of this sparkling wine. Flora unites the fruitful spice of Gewürztraminer with the strength, depth and minerality of Sémillon. Aging on the yeast for 2.5 years prior to disgorgement adds complexity, yet the wine will retain its youthful appeal for 20 years or more.
Schramsberg Crémant Demi-sec has been served at many U.S. State events, including President Reagans Second Inaugural Luncheon and President Obamas White House Dinner for Chinas President Jinping. Most recently, the Crémant Demi-sec was served at President Trumps White House dinner honoring French President Macron.
The sweetness in Crémant is subtle, providing a fine balance with desserts, such as fruit tarts, poached fruits, light cakes, custards, exotic sorbets, gingerbread, and crème brûlée. It also compliments a wide range of spicy Asian foods, blue cheeses, and matches especially well with foie gras.
The 2018 vintage saw abundant winter rains prior to the growing season that helped recharge reservoirs and groundwater. Spring weather was cool to mild, with increased vine vigor and extended flowering in some areas. Warm days and cool nights, with an occasional heat spike throughout the growing season, encouraged exceptional fruit development while maintaining bright acidity.

Blanc de Noirs (white from black) is the counterpart to Blanc de Blancs (white from white). Made primarily from the red grape Pinot Noir, this is a complex, medium-bodied, brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg pioneered the Blanc de Noirs style in the United States, producing the first such commercial American sparkler in 1967. The key to producing this Blanc de Noirs is our sourcing of Pinot Noir grapes from a vast and varied selection of cool-climate vineyards. Pinot Noir from low-yielding Sonoma and Marin coastal vineyards combine with fruit from Carneros and Anderson Valley sites, to develop a sparkling wine with a breadth of fruitful aroma and flavor. Select Chardonnay lots are then added, to give zest and backbone to the blend.
Making a white wine from a red grape requires great carehand-picked fruit, early morning harvest, optimal maturity, and delicate pressing. A balance of bright flavors, crisp acidity and minimal tannins is achieved. Barrel and malolactic fermentation of wine lots add richness and body. Yeast contact in the bottle harmonizes all the elements together in a toasty style. The youthful fruit character of the wine will develop and soften with additional age in the bottle. With proper storage, this sparkling wine will be delicious for many years, even decades to come.
Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs is particularly well-suited to serve with a variety of foods, including soft and nutty cheeses, macadamia nut-crusted halibut, and pork tenderloin with fresh rosemary and lemon thyme.

The Schramsberg style of Blanc de Blancs is dry and crisp. Small lots of barrel fermented wines, some of which complete malolactic fermentation, are added to the stainless-steel fermented wines to create added complexity in the blended base wine. After undergoing a second fermentation in bottle, the wine then ages on its yeast lees for about two years prior to disgorgement. With its vibrant, fruitful and focused nature, this sparkling wine will maintain its freshness, structure and refined finish for many years, even decades following its initial release.
While this wine can be enjoyed by itself as an apéritif, it is also perfect with fresh oysters and other shellfish, crab cakes, ceviche and grilled sea bass. It is also delicious with lemon chicken and Thai curries. Serve with aged Gouda or other hard cheeses, and as a counterpoint to soft triple creams.
For 2019, winter brought an abundant amount of rainfall which helped restore the water reservoirs that had suffered from years of drought. With additional late rains in May, the vines had ample water for the growing season. The transition from veraision to full ripeness was very consistent due to the warm, but not hot, temperatures that were maintained during the summer. Harvest started slightly later than average, and in the end brought a bountiful crop with exceptional fruit structure, depth of flavor, and bright acidity.

Harvest started slightly later than average, and in the end brought a bountiful crop with exceptional fruit structure, depth of flavor, and bright acidity.

Twenty years into building a outstanding range of vintage dated sparkling wines, the Davies family set out to master the non-vintage or multi-vintage traditional method technique. A few years of experimentation would ultimately lead to the successful launch of Mirabelle Brut and Mirabelle Brut Rose in 1992. The counterpart to our Mirabelle Brut, the Mirabelle Brut Rosé is a specially crafted blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Schramsbergs select cool-climate vineyards in the Napa-Carneros, Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley and Marin County areas of Californias North Coast.
The grapes are picked by hand and gently pressed to provide superior quality juice for the production of this balanced, refreshing rosé bubbly. In the spring following the fall harvest, base wines are individually evaluated and carefully blended by our winemakers. Pinot Noir lots, including a few fermented with skin contact, provide brightness of berry fruit and body, while Chardonnay lots lend length and zest to the palate. Additional flavor depth and aromatic complexity results from the blending of base wine lots aged in barrels and tanks for one or more years. The wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and rests for approximately two years before its release. Following the en tirage aging, an extensive dosage trial process produces the ideal finishing touch, and the sparkling wine is ready to be enjoyed. The finished Brut Rosé exhibits fresh, elegant, and toasty aromas that lead into lively and delicious fruit flavors on the palate.
The multi-vintage Mirabelle Rosé is delicious on its own, and it also pairs well with everything from grilled salmon, BBQ pork ribs, Caprese salad, poke tuna, classic Hawaiian pizza or simple pastas.

Mirabelle is Schramsbergs multi-vintage brut sparkling wine. This flavorful, bright bubbly exhibits the crisp acidity and vibrant apple/citrus fruit that is characteristic of cool-climate Chardonnay. Pinot Noir adds body to the palate and further depth of fruit flavor. Twenty years into building an outstanding range of vintage dated sparkling wines, the Davies family set out to master the non-vintage or multi-vintage traditional method technique. A few years of experimentation would ultimately lead to the successful launch of Mirabelle Brut and Mirabelle Brut Rose in 1992. Unlike our vintage bottlings, Mirabelle gains unique richness from blending additions of aged base wines, stored in barrels and tanks at the winery from prior vintages. These older lots add significant palate richness and aromatic complexity.
The grapes for Mirabelle are grown in the cool-climate pockets of Californias North Coast, including the Napa-Carneros, Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley, and Marin County. The fruit is hand-picked in the early morning hours at optimal maturity. Individual lot fermentations allow the winemakers to carefully select the components that make up the finished blend. After bottle fermentation and two years of aging en tirage, subsequent trials determine the ideal dosage to finish this brut style.
Mirabelle Brut works well as a dry apéritif and is also well-suited as an accompaniment to a broad range of foods, including oysters on the half shell, sushi, baked halibut, country fried chicken, cream-based pasta dishes, fruits, nuts and cheeses.
