2009 Tognetti Vineyard Brut Napa Valley Carneros
Jack Tognetti’s Chardonnay Vineyards are located on the north side of Bayview Avenue, in the southern end of the Napa Carneros AVA. The dark loamy soils along the Carneros Creek are just north of the San Pablo Bay watershed, providing the vines with a surplus of nutrients and water with which to grow. Intense flavors and gripping acidic structure are found in the grapes that are harvested from these vineyards. We have enjoyed working with the Tognetti family since the mid-1990’s, consistently blending
lots produced from their vineyards into our top Tête de Cuvée blends: J. Schram, Reserve and J. Schram Rosé.
With an extended amount of contact on the yeast following the second fermentation, this wine has developed a caramelized and toasty richness that enhances the bright fruit on the palate. We are very proud to have the opportunity to highlight the Tognetti Vineyard in this rare bottling.
Tasting notes
The 2009 Tognetti Vineyard has generous aromas of Fuji apple, pineapple, pear and candied lemon. The fruitful nose is complemented by notes of French bread dough and hazelnut. On the palate, there are bright flavors of tangerine, lemon and lime. The finish lingers on the palate with fruitful intensity and- Winemakers Keith Hock and Hugh Davies
