2011 Querencia Brut Rosé (1 x 750 ml)
Querencia is produced solely from fruit grown in the Napa Valley Carneros region. Chardonnay forms the blend's core, providing a relatively light-bodied, crisp and tangy palate. Small additions of Pinot Noir fermented with skin contact add berry brightness and color. This brut rosé sparkling wine is hearty enough to compliment the robust flavors of Mediterranean cooking and delicate enough to be served with a truly broad range of appetizers.
Tasting notes
The 2011 Querencia has generous aromas of watermelon, lemon and mandarin orange. It’s fruitful nose is accentuated by developed aromas of apricot crumb cake and brioche. The palate sustains lasting flavors of ruby red grapefruit, lemon custard and strawberry, which linger with a long, crisp and mouthwatering finish.- Winemakers Sean Thompson and Hugh Davies

94 PointsMade from a majority Chardonnay with 23% Pinot Noir, this salmon-pinkish sparkler is a stunner, inviting in floral and fruity components and crisp acidity. Grapefruit, strawberry and a taste of subtle custard coat the palate, staying light and bright through a lengthy, delightful finish.- Wine Enthusiast Editor's Choice (November 2015)

A high-spirited sparkler, sleek and rich, with raspberry, citrus and spiced cinnamon aromas and lively flavors of lemon and fresh ginger, finishing on a crisp note.- Wine Spectator (December 2015)

A limited cuvée available to the membership is the 2011 Querencia Rosé, a Brut Rosé of 77% Chardonnay and 23% Pinot Noir, representing just under 2,000 cases. About 45% of this is barrel fermented. It's meant to honor the late Jack Davies, who resurrected Schramsberg in 1965. This has delicate salmon color, shows plenty of crisp, Wheat Thin, rose petal and berry notes, with the floweriness, strawberry and delicate cherry notes all coming through in the aromatics and flavors. It's a beauty.- Wine Advocate (December 2015)
