The 2008 Hyde Vineyards and 2008 Jones Vineyards bottlings are our first sparkling wine releases that focus specifically on the vineyards of a single grower. The 2008 vintage was a spectacular year in the Carneros AVA, providing us with delicious fruit from +which to produce these extraordinary wines.

Larry Hyde's Chardonnay Vineyards are located on north side of Bayview Avenue, in the Napa side of the Carneros AVA. The vineyards border the Carneros Creek, which provides the vines with a surplus of nutrients and water with which to grow. The Pinot Noir is planted in the foothills just north of the Carneros Highway. Intense flavors and gripping acidic structure are found in the grapes that are harvested from these vineyards. We have enjoyed working with the Hyde family since the mid-1990's, consistently blending lots produced from their vineyards into our top Tête de Cuvée blends: J. Schram, Reserve and J. Schram Rosé.

Tasting notes

The 2008 Brut Hyde has bursting aromas of fresh grapefruit
and lime, followed by juicy pineapple. The fruitful nose is
complemented by notes of warm bread dough and almond. On
the palate, there are flavors of tangerine, lemon drop and kisses
of under-ripe red berry. The wine finishes with elegant vitality,
