This set includes two bottles of three different vintages of our J. Davies Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. The vintages include 2016, 2015 and 2014.

Tasting notes

The 2016 J. Davies Estate Cabernet opens with rich aromas of red raspberry and red plum, accentuated by undertones of cocoa powder and cola spice. Supple tannins anchor the wines well-structured palate, where a concentrated entry of baked strawberry and blackberry leads to a juicy acidity and lengthy finish."

"The 2015 J. Davies Estate Cabernet opens with rich aromas of blackberry, cherry and dried floral elements, accentuated by undertones of vanilla, clove and milk chocolate. Integrated tannins anchor the wines well-structured palate, where a concentrated and powerful entry of plum, black currant and raspberry leads to a smooth finish with a touch of cocoa powder and graphite."

The 2016 J. Davies Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is the wine's 16th vintage. A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec and 6% Petit Verdot, it spent 22 months in 62% new French oak. The opulence on the nose shows off dark chocolate and savory herbs, leather and blackberry. Lush and round on the mouth, this curvy, earthy red offers up cinnamon and cumin, and a hint of spearmint. The 2015 J. Davies Diamond Mountain has a deep garnet-purple color and offers up classic black currant, black plum and mulberry scents with hints of cigar box, yeast extract and bay leaves. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon J. Davies Diamond Mountain is a slightly more expensive cuvée. A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Malbec and the rest Petit Verdot, this is another gorgeously elegant, beautiful wine with terrific purity, plenty of blue, red and black fruits, some floral notes, medium to full body, supple tannins and a layered mouthfeel that builds incrementally to a long, long finish.
