2021 "Poseidon Vineyard" Pinot Noir (1 x 750 mL)
Poseidon Vineyard was first planted in 1984 by Carneros region pioneer, Nicolas Molnar. The Poseidon Vineyard can be found where the convergence of Carneros Creek and Napa River meets the picturesque San Pablo Bay. This southernmost region of Napa enjoys a unique maritime climate, influenced by the Pacific Ocean. This coastal proximity creates a cool, foggy environment, ideal for cultivating Pinot Noir grapes known for their elegant flavors and balanced acidity. The vineyards soils primarily consist of loamy clay, which retain moisture and provide excellent drainage, contributing to the vines health and the production of exceptional wines.
The 2021 Napa Valley growing season started with minimal rain. Due to depleted water tables from two years of drought, the vines naturally carried less crop. With smaller berries and clusters, the fruit possessed remarkably concentrated flavors. Harvest started early and ended quickly due to the lighter yields. The dense and delicious Pinot Noir fruit quality of this vintage resulted in exceptional wines.
