2022 "Renteria 360 Vineyard" Cabernet (1 X 750 ml)
The Oakville AVA extends over an expanse of well-drained gravel soil between the Vaca and Mayacamas Mountains. The soils found here are the result of sedimentary deposits from the hills that form Napa Valley. What makes Oakvilles climate distinctive is its transitional, mid-valley location. Oakville is just far enough south to receive regular morning fog from the San Francisco and San Pablo bays, which slows the warming early in the day. But after the fog blows off by mid-morning, Oakville receives the full benefit of the Napa Valley sun. When afternoon temperatures begin to peak, the bay blows cool breezes north to begin this cooling cycle again.
The Renteria family has been farming in the Napa Valley since 1962. The Renteria 360 Vineyard is located on the north end of Oakville, at the border of Rutherford, just off the Silverado trail. The nearly 60-acre vineyard was planted in 2012 and is comprised of multiple blocks with different clone and rootstock combinations. This wine is crafted from three distinct blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon, planted to clones 4, 15, and 169. These clones combined they create a wine rich in depth, color, and flavor.
The 2022 vintage began with over 20 inches of rain from October to December, followed by mostly dry conditions from January to March. After a frosty spring and some hail events, we welcomed a warmer summer. A record-breaking September heat wave kicked harvest into full swing. This distinctive weather pattern contributed to the diverse flavor profile for which Napa Valley cabernets are celebrated, ranging from vibrant and elegant to dense and powerful.

95 PointsDavies Vineyards Renteria 360 Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from a site across from Beckstoffer Georges III. The nose opens with black cherry, blackberry, and kirsch, layered with cedar, toasty oak, a hint of capsicum, and a touch of sage. Medium- to full-bodied, with elongated tannins framing many pure black cherry, blackberry, and blue fruit aromatics. Cool wet slate and a hint of white pepper emerge on the bone-dry finish.- Decanter, January 2025

This Oakville site has produced a solid 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Renteria 360 Vineyard, boasting copious black cherries and cassis. It's full-bodied, soft and expansive across the mid-palate, then seems to tighten up a bit on the back end, coming to a long, mouthwatering finish framed by softly dusty tannins.- Wine Advocate, February 2025

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Renteria 360 Vineyard turned out beautifully. It shows the more compact, mid-weight build of so many wines in this vintage, but there are no hard edges or awkward contours. Black cherry, plum, incense and new leather are all generous in the glass. Silky tannins add to the wine's immediacy and overall charm. This is very nicely done.- Vinous, December 2024
